Registration Information

Montana’s Run Working Equitation (MRWEQ)

July 2023-June 2024 MRWEQ MEMBERSHIP
Montana’s Run Working Equitation Inc. (MRWEQ) has been created to provide a dedicated training venue to further the training of horse and rider combinations who have already gained some experience in this fantastic sport. We will be focusing our training days on helping riders whose goal it is to be actively training for competitions in a fun, supportive and respectful team environment.  Riders will already need to have a good understanding of the ANWEL rulebooks, as the training format will be similar to competitions. Training will be mostly self guided, in a small team format & focused on training for competitions and helping each other move up the levels. Some training days will also have instructors. What's even better, as the club grounds are a dedicated WEQ venue, there will be minimal set-up and pack away for riders.  Turn up, saddle up, report for teams' meeting and ride!
Montana’s Run Working Equitation (MRWEQ) is now seeking membership applications for the membership year of July 2023-June 2024. If you would like to be part of a fun, competitive and progressive club then apply now. MRWEQ aims to provide its’ members with 8 ridden events during the financial year. These include Member Practice Days, clinics and competitions to be held at 221 Sandy Creek Rd, Mount Vincent NSW 2323 plus support for our competition teams to attend other competitions & events.
The dedicated working equitation venue means there will be minimal set up and pack away required. This means our members can arrive, saddle up, ride their chosen dressage tests, a few practice courses. We may need to set up a few spare obstacles for instructors or specific training exercises. There will also be access to a mechanical cow for training purposes at some training days.  Each training day will give our riding members the opportunity to train towards competing in WEQ.  For safety reason you must let us know if you are unable to canter your horse, as some of our training will incorporate canter manuevers whilst we assist horse and rider combinations to move up the competitive levels of WEQ. Riders will be split up into training teams with similar horse / rider combinations where possible, to train together and support each other at the levels they will be competing at in 2022-2023 with a view to helping support each other to move up through the levels of working equitation with progressive training of both horse and rider.  Occassionally the club may be able to organise an instructor to assist our members with specific learning activities. Costs of this will be divided up amongst the attending riders.  During wet weather MRWEQ will only run out of one all weather arena.
Just like WEQ Competitions, our Training days will be broken up into phases.
  • Up to 4 Teams of riders (ideally at similar competition level). Each rider rotating through up to 4 areas and 4 groups. (Dependent on available arenas/weather)
    • 1 group on dressage
    • 1 group on Ease of Handling,
    • 1 group on Dry Cattle Work / focus obstacles
    • 1 group as ground crew.
Membership numbers will be limited (due to float parking availability), but this will keep our practice days with smaller rider numbers so that our riders can get sufficient competition focused practice time. New Riding Members will ideally have already ridden in working equitation competitions prior or be competing in a similar discipline, and need be familiar with the current ANWEL rulebooks & dressage tests. Preference will be given to new members who are willing to step up into committee roles and assist the club moving forward into the future.
The club will be focused on supporting & training its riders into teams for competing at external events on a regular basis. We aim to create teams within a positive and supportive environment, to help each other learn and to assist our riders to compete at local events.
Memberships & Registration to any of our club events will only be accepted electronically via Nominate.
