'Equestrian Tasmania presents the Peterswald and Machine Laundry Cafe Horse of the Year 2025 to be conducted at the Coal Valley Equestrian Centre, Cambridge, January 25th and 26th Twenty-25
This is the State Qualifying Event for the Show Horse Nationals 2025 which will be conducted in Victoria at Werribee Park Equestrian Centre.
All riders and owners are to hold current full membership with ETas unless competing in restricted classes in which participant membership is sufficent.
Restricted classes are as follows Tasmanian Bred classes. Preliminary classes. Fashions on the Field [all sections].
Off the track ridden classes will be a NATIONAL SHOW HORSE QUALIFIER FOR 2025. If you intend representing your state in this class you must be a full competitive member of ETas.
All other classes must hold full competitor membership with ETas.
Entrants must supply current height certificate to be emailed to [email protected] PRIOR to the event. Measuring is available on the weekend, please advise if you require measuring so we are not emailing you unecessarily chasing up certificates.
Yards, LIMITED stabling and camping are avalable. Please book both on entries if you require yards or are intending to stay overnight. IF YOU ARE STAYING FROM FRIDAY EVENING TO SUNDAY PLEASE ENSURE YOU BOOK YARDS CORRECTLY FOR BOTH DAYS.

Open Classes Saturday 25th. Hunters will be Sunday 26th
Newcomers: Not to have been shown prior to 25th January 2024.
Childs Classes: Qualifiers for the National Show Horse Championships 2025. One height division only.
Owner Rider Classes: Horses must be owned and registered in the name of the rider or an immediate family member (mother, father, brother, sister, grandmother, grandfather). Leased horses are ineligible for this event. Qualifiers for the Southern Cross Show Horse Spectacular 2025. One height division only.
Riding Pony Classes: For registered RP only. Owners and riders must be financial. These classes are conducted by the Tasmanian Riding Pony Branch and will be in open and hunter sections
Fashions on the Field for off the track: Will be run in conjunction with the Off the Track Classes and are for off the track horses only. Open will be conducted on Saturday, Hunter Sunday. Participant membership sufficient.
Fashions on the Field Open and Hunter: Are for all other exhibits and exclude off the track exhibits. Open will be conducted on Saturday, Hunter Sunday. Participant membership sufficient.
First Ridden Ponies Hunter and Open: Child rider to be under 12 years. Competitor membership required. This is a national qualifying class.
Preliminary Classes: A PRELIMINARY horse is one that has not been placed 1st, Champion or Reserve in an Open ridden show horse or hunter class/event at any Royal Show or never been the Winner or Runner Up at the Grand National or EA Nationals or any State HOTY Title [SHC/EA] or has never been the Winner of any HOTY Preliminary Title in any state. Participant membership sufficient.
Tas Bred Ridden and Led Classes: Are for horses bred in Tasmania. This will be a feature class in both Open and Hunter Sections. The class will be judged as a horse of the year class with a top 5. Participant membership is sufficient.
Penny Woods Memorial: This class is offered in both open and hunter to all exhibits. The class will be judged as a horse of the year class with a top 5.
Sarah Beltz Memorial Riding Class: This class is open to all rider class entrants as a memorial to Sarah. All age groups may enter and it will be judged as a riding class in the memory of Sarah. Placings to Top 10.
COVID 19. Please remember the judges may change to current CV19 trends. We will make every effort to keep competitors in the loop but some things are completely out of our control. Should CV19 force a change in judges, then the selections will be made by the National EA office as per normal protocols.
REFUNDS: Only applicable with a vet certificate or DR certificate once entries close. No refund will be issued without the above and an administration fee still applies.
Entries close 11pm JANUARY 4th Twenty-25. LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED UNTIL 11:00AM 6th JANUARY WITH A LATE FEE.
