Show Jumping Competition and Protocol Dressage

Sunday 29th July 2018 from 8.30am

At: Nana Glen Equestrian Sportsground, Morrows Road, Nana Glen.

Show Jumping will be held in the main arena, Dressage will be set up on the top polo fields.

Riders must be members of NCEC, SHC or EA to ride.

Enter via nominate.com.au - open shortly.

Protocol Dressage

This is not a competition, so it’s the perfect time to have a go and receive positive constructive feedback. It’s also the perfect time to try the next level. No placings or ribbons will be presented. Learn exactly what the judge sees and what they are looking for and how to increase your marks. It is not a riding lesson.

Each rider is allocated approximately 20 minutes, to ride their test, discuss with the judge and then re-ride or go over certain movements again.  Tests will be handed out at the judge’s discretion.

Each rider can enter no more than 2 tests each. Each rider may ride more than one horse if desired.

There will be a very limited number of tests run, so we will be finished by about 3pm. Number of arenas will depend on our being able to secure enough judges.

Note: NCEC members will have priority, and entries will be closed upon reaching the limit of tests available. Non-members may be placed on a waiting list and/or refunded.

If entries have closed you may be placed on a waiting list by emailing ncec@northcoastequestrianclub.com.au and advising that you wish to attend.

There will be no refunds unless vet certificate or doctor’s certificate is produced within 24 hours of withdrawing.

Things you need to know:

  • For obvious safety reasons, riding boots and approved protective headgear must be worn at all times when showjumping.
  • Front and rear protective jumping boots are strongly recommended for horses welfare for jumping.
  • Protective vests recommended.
  • It is the individual's responsibility to ensure that the horse and rider are fit for the event. The officials have the right to stop rider or horse participation on safety or welfare grounds. In such cases the official’s decision is final and refunds will not be given.
  • EA Dress code rules apply for the T’Shirt Dressage competition.
  • Strictly no refunds for scratchings unless a vet or medical certificate is received.
  • Riding participants must be members of NCEC or EA.
  • Dogs allowed on the ground but must be leashed at all times.
  • Canteen will be operating on Sunday.
  • In the unlikely event of the competition being cancelled, refunds will be made via Nominate, with a small administration fee deducted. 15% may also be retained to cover expenses if required.
  • Volunteers who help run the day would be greatly appreciated. Roles might include assisting with Course & Dressage arena set up/changes, pole picking for jumping arena and warm up arena, ring steward, canteen, dressage scoring and pencilling.
Please specify on Nominate if you or your family or friends are able to offer assistance.
  • The draw will be emailed out to participants in the week leading up to the event, hopefully the Wednesday night.
