The Kilkivan Showgrounds and Equestrian Centre (KSEC) is located at 88 Mudlo Road, only minutes from the heart of the Kilkivan township.  It boasts an undercover 80 x 40 metre arena which is available for events and casual users.  The KSEC site provides a warm coiuntry welcome with upgraded amenities and disability access.

Individual/Family subscription - for shared use thoughout the year except when the centre is booked for exclusive use activitiy. Family Subscription (up to 2 Adults & 2 Children under 18 years of age.  For individual use only (excludes Instructors and Trainers).

Terms, Conditions & Arena Rules
Acceptance of Terms and Conditions of Use
KSEC facility booking agreements
1.     You agree that in accordance with the casual subscription, bookings can only be made up to four (4) weeks in advance.
2.     You agree to complete all relevant booking forms and declarations required in advance and gain acknowledgement and confirmation of payment, should one be required, of your booking prior to entering site.
KSEC facility use agreements
3.     You agree that the casual subscription rate does not include arena preparation.
4.     You agree that the casual use is applicable during daylight hours during summer months and lights may be used in the shortened daylights hours of winter.
5.     You agree that KSEC ground staff may work in the area at any time.
6.     You agree that by using the arena or other KSEC facility for some activity, you confirm that you consider the arena or other KSEC facilities as suitable for that activity.
7.     You agree that all manure deposited by your horse whilst at KSEC is picked up and deposited in the designated manure disposal area provided. This also relates to any rubbish including bailing twine or food or drink consumables that you use also.  Rubbish bins are located around the Venue.  Unfortunately, failure to comply with manure and / or rubbish removal may result in a cleaning fee being charged.

8.     You acknowledge that the condition of the arena may vary.
9.     You acknowledge that you have read and fully understand the terms contained in this form.
10.  You acknowledge that the terms in this form when signed constitute a legally binding contract between you and Gympie Regional Council.

ARENA RULES - CODE OF CONDUCT

Bookings are essential and all enquiries are welcomed between the hours of 8am-5pm Monday to Friday.

In the interest of public safety and everyone’s enjoyment, the following Code of Conduct is to be respected. Please do not hesitate to contact Council if you require clarification.

In utilising this facility, you accept the following:

FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY
·         Individuals use this facility at their own risk.
·         All users are to be considerate of other users.
·         All facility users are responsible for their own safety equipment and it is recommended that a safety helmet and suitable riding boots are worn.
·         Take care of our little ones and ensure that unmounted children under ten years of age, are not in the arena when horses and cattle are present.
·         Riders under the age of 16yrs MUST have an adult present

·         Biosecurity is essential for everyone's safety, so a HORSE HEALTH DECLARATION must be completed FOR EVERY HORSE bought onto the Kilkivan Showgrounds EVERY TIME

           Other than plastic cones or barrels, the use of solid equipment in the arena (e.g. Jumps, rails, panels) requires an exclusive booking and payment of the appropriate fee.

·         The arena is a non-smoking area.
·         Riding alone - It is recommended that users have a mobile phone available in case of emergency and let someone know where you are.

OUR ARENA IS PRECIOUS
·         To help us maintain the arena for everyone’s enjoyment:
·         Glass in the surface is extremely dangerous to animals so no glass is to be taken into the arena.
·         Driving of pegs into the arena surface cannot be permitted as it will cause ongoing issues and possible severe injury to horses.
·         Take your rubbish with you or place in the bins provided.
·         Remove manure from the arena and the surrounding area and place in the bins provided during the event, then place all manure in the concrete facility provided behind the arena.
·         Horses are not to be tied up to the arena structure. No string to be tied on the arena fence.
·         Horses must be under effective and safe control at all times. Be aware of fellow riders.
·         Leave the complex as you found it for the enjoyment of all usersī‚§
·         Dogs in the arena can be a hazard to riders so please keep them tied up outside of the arena area. (Other than for an approved event)

Please note that the arena may be closed between the hours of 7am and 10am for maintenance work to be carried out.

COUNCIL WANTS EVERYONE USING THE ARENA TO HAVE A GREAT EXPERIENCE SO ADHERANCE TO THE ABOVE IS A NECESSITY AND FAILURE TO DO SO MAY AFFECT YOUR FUTURE USE.

Conditions of Use& Waiver
1.   The conditions contained in this document are valid for a period of 12 months, with that 12-month period commencing on the 1st January in the year you sign this document.
2.   You acknowledge that horse riding is a dangerous activity and that horses can act in a sudden and unpredictable way, especially if frightened or hurt.
3.   You acknowledge that serious injury or death may result from horse riding activities.
4.   You acknowledge no alcohol or illicit drugs are to be consumed by any person during, and for a period of 24 hours before riding or handling any horse on KSEC premises.
5.   You and any person in your care or control will follow any rules, regulations and signage as set out by KSEC.
6.   You and any person in your care or control will follow all reasonable and lawful instructions from staff at KSEC.
7.   You will disclose, prior to riding or handling any horse on KSEC premises, any pre-existing medical condition, including any medications, that may affect the safety of you or any other person riding a horse.
8.   You and any person in your care or control will wear the necessary safety equipment whilst riding and/or handling a horse.
9.    If you or any person in your care or control suffers any injury or illness, you agree that the Event Organiser and/or KSEC management and staff may provide evacuation, first aid and medical treatment at your own expense, and your acceptance of these terms and conditions constitutes your consent to such evacuation, first aid and/or medical treatment.
10. Any misconduct or refusal by you or any person in your care or control to follow any reasonable and lawful direction from staff at KSEC will result in your immediate removal from the premises.
11. To the extent permitted by law you release, waive and discharge KSEC, Gympie Regional Council and its staff and volunteers from any and all loss or damage, and any claims or demands (whether based in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise) arising from or in any way connected with your use of KSEC facilities or premises and any horse riding activity, including any injury to you or a person in your care or control or your own death or the death of a person in your care or control.
12. You indemnify KSEC, Gympie Regional Council and its staff and volunteers (the Indemnified Parties) against any and all claims, actions, demands,  proceedings (whether based in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise), losses, costs and expenses which may be made or brought against or suffered or incurred by the Indemnified Parties (Losses) (including  any Losses arising from damage suffered by a person (including a child) in your care or  control) arising from or in any way connected with your use of KSEC facilities and premises and any horse riding activity.
13. You fully acknowledge that a purpose of these conditions of use is to exclude to the maximum extent permitted by law all liability of Council for loss, death or injury caused or contributed by any horse riding activity. You agree that these terms and conditions must be interpreted to achieve that purpose, and in any dispute, must be interpreted against you in favour of KSEC and Gympie Regional Council.
I FULLY ACKNOWLEDGE THAT I HAVE HAD SUFFICIENT OPPORTUNITY TO READ AND UNDERSTAND THESE CONDITIONS OF USE, UNDERSTAND I HAVE GIVEN UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS BY ACKNOWLEDGING THE ABOVE FREELY AND VOLUNTARILY WITHOUT INDUCEMENT OF ANY KIND.
