What you need to know before entering....
Who can enter?
Participant classes - entrants and their backsteppers must be EA Participant or Competitor members. Horses need not be EA registered.
Competitor classes - entrants must be EA Competitor members and their horse/s must be EA registered. Backsteppers must be at least EA Participant members.
Horses must be at 120cm in singles or 108cm in pairs and four-in-hand.
Horses in Drive-1 classes must be at least four years old. Horses in Drive-2 classes must be at least five years old.
Do I have to have a backstepper?
Yes, a backstepper is required for every carriage. Two backsteppers are required for each four-in-hand.
What should I wear?
You must wear a tagged approved helmet, correctly fitted.
Body protectors are complulsory for drivers under 18 years, and strongly encouraged for everyone on a carriage.
Aprons are not required.
Gloves on the driver and the backstepper are required. Penalties apply if they are not worn.
Dress should be clean and tidy, and sun-safe. Coats, etc, are not required.
What axle width is needed?
138cm for all ponies.
148cm for horse pairs.
158cm for horse four-in-hand.
What size arenas will be used?
40 x 80m
What Cones Course will; be used?
EA Cones Course A
How many drivers can drive any one horse?
Two, over the whole of the event
How many phases may any one horse do on any one day?
Each horse can do three phases in any one day. Dressage and Cones is two phases. Challenge tests are one phase.
When can I walk the course?
The Cones Course will be open for walking from 11am Saturday and 7am Sunday, and will close 15 minutes before the start of a class.
What is the program?
Saturday starting 12 noon
Participant Drive-1 Dressage test, followed by
Competitor Drive-1 Dressage test, followed by
Competitor Drive-2 Challenge test, followed by
Participant Drive-1 Cones Course A (15 cones), followed by
Competitor Drive-1 Cones Course A (15 cones), followed by
Presentation of the winners of the Drive-2 Challenge test
Sunday starting 8.30am
Participant Drive-1 Challenge Test, followed by
Competitor Drive-1 Challenge Test, followed by
Competitor Drive-2 Dressage Test, followed by
Competitor Drive-2 Cones Course A (20 cones), followed by
Presentation Ceremony

Champions are decided over the two classes (Challenge test and Dressage/Cones) at Drive-1 Participant, Drive-1 Competitor and Drive-2 Competitor.
Horse Health Decs required. Stables available on the grounds. Drug testing will be carried out.
Carriage numbers will be required. Numbers will be allocated by the Organising Committee.
