SWEQ & GEC 'Choose Your Own Obstacle Course'

Thursday 18th June 2026 

NOTE:  This event is being run in conjunction with Galston Equestrian Club (GEC) and will be held at the GEC grounds, called the Rural Sports Facility located off Mansfield Rd, Galston.   

This day is a replacment for the 24th May that had to be canceled due to forecast rain.  There will be just one group of 12 riders from 10:30am to 12:30pm.  Please be prepared to arrive at 10am to help set up. 

'Choose Your Own Obstacle Course'? Yes, that's right.  We will put out lots of obstacles for you to have a go at as many as you wish.  There will also be the opportunity to ride a complete obstacle course at any pace.  So come for the challenge and practice your EOH skills!   

Venue:  The Rural Sports Facility, Cnr Bayfield & Mansfield Rd, Galston.  Float entrance off Mansfield Rd, Galston. 

Cost

SWEQ Members and GEC Members - $40 ($10 discount applies when you enter)

Not a member of SWEQ or GEC - $50

Format:  

Day will run from 10:30 to 12:30pm with max 12 riders.  

Please be prepared to arrive at 10am to help with set up and stay at the end to help pack up. 

 

              ** In line with current NSW Health rules regarding COVID19:

The following rules apply to SWEQ events: 

  • Apon arrival please present to the organisers for sign in  (located at the canteen). 
  • Helmets in accordance with current Australian Standards are complusory and must be worn during all ridden activities. 
  • No stallions allowed without prior approval from the Organising Committee. 
  • No dogs allowed.
  • Only registered and paying participants may enter the obstacle and ridden areas. 
  • Only registered and paying participants may ride. 
  • Participants are required to either help set up or pack up obstacles. 
  • There are 32 day yards on the grounds which may only be used by horses registered in the event, unless prior approval by the Organising Committee .
