Welcome to our third Working Equitation Training Day in the Highlands. We want this to be a fun and safe day for everyone from riders and horse combinations new to working equitation to combinations already competing the sport. Please read the information below carefully. Format: Guided 1 hour Group Sessions on the Obstacle Course with 2 groups of 3 or 4 horses each and the opportunity to complete a run-through of multiple obstacles at the end of each session. Please select the group most appropriate for you and your horse. If this is the first time you or your horse are participating in Working Equitation, we recommend Group 7 which has been created for newcomers. Please check the ANWEL website for the new 2024 rules on how to navigate the obstacles. Set Up & Pack Down: Set Up will be on Saturday afternoon from 3pm and Pack Down on Sunday afternoon after the conclusion of the event around 2:30pm. We require helpers for all classes plus Set Up and Pack Down. Please select the option you prefer. We’re looking for those who live locally for Set Up & Pack Down assistance. A schedule of helper allocations will be distributed by email prior to the event. Riders: 14 years or older, all riders must be able to control their horse independently. Warm Up: will be in the show jumping arena adjacent to the obstacle course. Parking: Please follow the signs. Helmets and Gear: All riders must wear a helmet that meets Equestrian Australian standards and appropriate riding attire. Dogs: All dogs must be on a leash at all times and NO dogs are allowed in any arena at any time. Catering: Free coffee and tea will be provided to all participants at the clubhouse. There will also be a delicious Ploughman’s Lunch available for only $15.00 per person. Please order by selecting this option on the entry form. Lunch will be served 12.30-1.00pm. Refund policy: Refunds prior to the Closing Date will be processed through Nominate and will incur Nominate administration fees. After the Closing Date, any scratching or cancellation will not be eligible for a refund regardless of a vet or doctors’ certificate being produced. Should the need arise to cancel the event, for whatever reason, the nominate administration fee will be deducted from all refunds through Nominate. Insurance requirements: If a member of Shibumi Equestrian Centre believes that your horse is posing a risk to yourself, others or property, you will need to comply with their directions. Shibumi Equestrian Centre reserves the right of admission. First Aid: Participants acknowledge that equestrian pursuits are inherently dangerous and that Shibumi Equestrian Centre will not have full time paramedics on site for the event. There will be HLTAID011 accredited senior first aiders in attendance. Photographs: Participants agree that they or parties accompanying them may be photographed or filmed at the event. Shibumi Equestrian Centre and their sponsors may use the images on social media and website. Draw: Depending on the numbers of entries, timing and types of sessions may be adjusted to suit. This will be advised with the draw sent out prior to the event.
