Show jumping competitors must nominate online for all their events prior to 30th of April 5pm.  No nominations will be accepted after this date.

All placegetters receiving prizemoney must attend presentations mounted unless otherwise directed by the Chief Steward. Prizemoney may be withheld if riders fail to present.
A maximum of five (5) horses are permitted in the main warm-up arena at any one time.
A second warm-up area will be available in the Rodeo Arena, where practice jumps will be set up. 
The Committee reserves the right to alter the program at any time and refuse or cancel the entry of any competitor who does not comply with the rules and directions.
Any abuse, misconduct, or disrespectful behaviour towards officials, volunteers, or other competitors will result in immediate dismissal from the Taroom Show 2026

1.Chief Steward

1.1. The chief steward shall have final say in all decisions regarding any event and entrance into events. The chief steward has the ability to alter or remove any event in the Taroom Show schedule.

1.2. Any competitor or persons associated displaying disruptive or offensive behavior at the discretion of the chief steward will be asked to leave the grounds immediately and excluded from participating in any further events at the Taroom Show.

2.Rider Safety & Waiver

2.1. All riders, inc competitors in led/handler classes, must sign a waiver before competing in the Taroom Show. Waivers are filled online with your nominations. Competitors under the age of 18 must have a parent/guardian sign on their behalf.

2.2. Competitors ride at their own risk. Each competitor must acknowledge that it is a condition of acceptance of their nomination that the show society committee will not be responsible in any respect for injury, loss or damage, personally or otherwise which may be suffered by them in consequence of or in any way arising out of their attendance at or participation in the show. He/she must agree for themselves, their executors and administrators to indemnify the Taroom Show Society and its members in respect to any such claim.

3.Biosecurity

3.1. Taroom Showgrounds is biosecurity controlled. All horse owners entering the grounds must complete a Horse Health Declaration while nominating online.

4.Nominations

4.1. Nominations can be made through nominate.com.au

4.2. Nominations open 1st of April and close Wednesday 30th of April 2025 at 5pm.

4.3. No refunds or nomination withdraws will be made after the closing date. Refunds will only be paid on the following basis – In writing with a vet or medical certificate and the discretion of the show committee.

All refunds to be dealt after the show, no earlier than Tuesday 12th of May and no later than Friday 15th of May. No refunds will be made during the show. Changes prior to the nominations closing date (30th of April) – can be done by the entrant themselves through NOMINATE

4.4. One horse/One rider.

5.Local/District Classes

5.1. Local/district classes will be limited to horses/ponies that have been pastured within 100km radius of Taroom township for three months prior to the show.

5.2. Local/district classes will be limited to competitors that reside within 100km radius of Taroom township for three months prior to the show.

6.Protests/Disputes

6.1. In the event of a dispute, the rules of the Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies shall apply. “Any protest by an exhibitor must be lodged in writing with the committee person or steward in charge of any section within 30 minutes of the completion of the event together with a fee determined by the committee of this society. The fee will be forfeited if the protest is considered to be frivolous or vexatious. The protest shall be heard according to the rules of the natural justice by a dispute committee of three appointed by the president of this show and the decision by the disputes committee shall be final.”

6.2. The determined fee for protests/disputes at the Taroom Show is $50.00.

7. Amature rules

Class 8a Article 255 – EA Amateur Riders

7.1 Amateur Rider classes are classes for Athletes who:

7.2 Athletes must meet the membership requirements as set out in the EA General Regulations.

7.3 Athletes may compete as amateurs from the beginning of the calendar year in which they turn 21 years of age.

7.4 Amateur Rider classes are classes for Athletes who:

  • Must not have competed in an Olympic Games or World Equestrian Games in either Jumping or Eventing
  • In the past 10 years must not have competed in a World Cup for Jumping Riders qualifying competition or in a 5* 3-day event/ 4* 3-day event prior to 2021.
  • Must not have competed in section 1 or 2 at a Royal Show in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide or Perth in the past two years
  • Amateur Riders may not compete in an Amateur class if they compete in a class where the first round is higher than 1.20m at that event.
  • Amateur Riders may not compete in an Amateur class on a Horse that will compete in any class where the first round is higher than 1.20m at that event.

Horse Health Declaration

All horses entering the Taroom Showgrounds must complete a Horse Health Declaration that can be filled ONLINE on NOMINATE with nominations.

Cattle Tick Free Zone

The Taroom Show Grounds are a cattle tick free zone. Before you move horses from the infested zone to the free zone you must be tick free and have met your cattle tick risk minimization requirements. You must read and follow the procedures identified in 16b of the Queensland biosecurity manual for the intended movement. There are 3 options provided in the manual that you can use to meet the requirements:

Owner manual inspection & chemical treatment. 

Owner manual inspection & manage your horse in a (tick Free) stated way Accredited certifier manual inspection & chemical treatment.

You also need to record on the movement record the actions you have taken to meet the requirements.
