● All Classes except Champion and Supreme classes are $15.00 per entry
● Champion and Supreme Classes are free to the place getters.

Please note fodder & feed is not provided by the venue, so please make your own arrangements.
Camping is free. Take care to park and camp in the designated areas. There is a creek and some nice shade trees plus lots of picnic tables. There is a sheltered area.
Friday, March 27th- Haflinger Classification Day. If members have horses that need to be classified, the AHBSA will organize a classifier for this day. The Wollombi Pub, the General Store and Myrtle & Stone all offer food and drinks. It is a 1 minute drive to Wollombi. You can also BYO for Friday lunch and/or dinner as there is a BBQ on the Pony Club Grounds. Depending on what people want, we can organize a table at the Wollombi Pub for dinner.
Saturday, March 28th -2026 AHBSA NSW State Haflinger & Young Stock Show
Lunch- A BBQ Lunch will be held at the Show. $10.00 per person ticket can be purchased on Nominate. BYO Drinks. Book tickets for your guests on Nomimate.
Dinner- The AHBSA will book a table for dinner at the Wollombi Pub for Saturday night.
You MUST be a member of the AHBSA to enter the show. If you are not a member you MUST pay $35.00 Insurance Fee on Nominate. This fee and your details will be forwarded to the AHBSA and will entitle you to an Associate Membership for 1 year.
Classification Entries for Friday, March 27th MUST be made no later than March 30th, otherwise the classification WILL NOT PROCEED.

Show Entries for Saturday, March 28th MUST be made by March 13th and entries will be closed on Nominate. All entries must be made and paid on Nominate.
When you enter this event, you agree to the terms of the Waiver and the rules set out by the ABBSA.

For Classification- There will be no late entries or scratching accepted as the AHBSA have to provide a paid classifier.
For the Show- ALL entries received after March 13th will only be accepted at the discretion of the Breed Show

Young Rider aged 17 years and under should be easily identified
On your Nominate entry, make sure the DOB is correct and medical questions are answered.
A Club Safety/First Aid Officer will be own site. Closest hospital is Cessnock Hospital, 30 minutes away. https://www.nsw.gov.au/departments-and-agencies/nsw-health/service-directory/cessnock-hospital or 000 for ambulance.
The Association requires us to appoint a First Aid/Safety Officer. Please make life easier for everyone by thinking about safety at all. The AHBSA is an affiliated EA Club and adheres to the rules.
Stallions must wear the green disc on the halter/bridle or saddle pad at all times. All competitors are reminded to allow stallions and their handlers enough space for safety. Whilst it is the responsibility of the owner that any entire horse brought onto the showground is totally under control, other owners, handlers and riders must behave sensibly and allow adequate room for stallions and colts.
Follow signs into the Pony Club. Please park tidily to allow others adequate room.
Due to parking restrictions, horses must be kept in yards and cannot be left tied to the float
Parking only in designated areas.

An official photographer will be appointed TBA.
Only horses registered or recorded in the stud book of the Australian Haflinger Breeding and Sports Association may be shown in Haflinger Classes at AHBSA events. Annual member and horse registration must be up to date.
Unclassified registered horses under 4 years (at 1st August) may be shown in Haflinger classes including geldings of any age. If you wish to enter a mare or stallion in breed classes, after that time they must be Classified to compete.
All horses must be under proper control at all times. Horses that get loose in the ring will be eliminated. All horses must have been trained to make turns in the ring to the RIGHT. A handler must not stand or lead a horse in such a way as to obscure the Judge's view of the horse.
Horses must be shown as naturally as possible and must be properly groomed.
Body clipping is not permitted including facial hairs. Mane and tail are to be left natural and not to be plaited or braided. Clipping of the Bridle path is optional. Ears may be neatened, but not clipped out. Clipping of feathers and legs below knees or hocks is optional. Horses can be eliminated or placed last in their respective classes at judges congression. Horses may be shown shod or unshod, but feet must be correctly trimmed. clear polish accepted, but hoof black is NOT .
The horse must be presented with a plain cable halter,or native style cotton halter, bitless foal slips and bridles accepted. Stallions MUST be shown or moved on grounds in a bridle with a bit. They must have an easily identifiable green disc displayed on the bridle in public or stalls when stabled.
English (ribbon) show browbands are acceptable for part-breds only.
Handlers must be properly attired and groomed to compliment their horse. Riding attire must be accompanied with am EA approved helmet. Traditional native style attire is desired to compliment their horse ie. plane long dress pants, shorts, knee length skirt, dress shirt, jacket or vest, tweed is acceptable.
Riders. Must wear an EA Approved safety helmet. green, brown, or blue tweed hacking jacket are preferred for presentation/turnout classes. Navy and black are also acceptable in regular open/breed classes, a collared or ratcatcher shirt with tie or stock. fawn, beige or banana-coloured breeches. Short boots with jodhpur clip for children, long boots accepted for older children and adults. Plain gloves to match boots or helmet.
1. It is a condition of entry that all competitors, families and employees abide by the show rules.

3. All Part-bred or crosses must be registered with the AHBSA. https://haflinger.org.au/progeny-registration-application/ $30.00
3. All competitor must be financial members. If you are not a member, you MUST pay the $35.00 insurance cost in Nominate and you will be granted an Associate Membership. You can go to the website if you want other types memberships.
4. You agree to maintain appropriate insurance for yourself and anyone who is allowed to ride/handle your horse for public liability that may attach to you as the keeper of the horse.
5. Entries for Classification must be completed no later than February 30th or the Classification will not proceed
6. Entries for the Show must be completed by March 13th and entries will close.
7 Reimbursements of entry fees will only be considered if a doctors or vets’ letter is supplied, and the show secretary is notified at least.
8. The AHBSA reserves the right to cancel or amend the classes as they see fit due to weather conditions. Weather news will be emailed and posted on the website and Facebook page.

1. All competitors must be ready to enter the ring when called so another class is not delayed. Note that classes may be held a head of the displayed time but will not be held for late entries. Listen for your classes as they will be announced.
2. The judges' decision is always final.
3. Any horse not sufficiently under control or considered unsafe shall be removed from the ring immediately at the request of the judge.
4. A junior or young rider competitor must be able to provide proof of age to the organisers should there be any doubt as to his/her eligibility to enter a class. A responsible adult, who must be named on the Nominate entry form must accompany juniors. The minimum age for juniors is 8yrs old.
5. Any competitor wishing to make a protest, in relation to any horse exhibited at the show must make the same in writing, to the Show.
6. No competitor/rider shall allow a stallion/colt for which they are responsible as owner, lessee, authorised agent or rider to compete, be prepared to compete, in any competition without taking adequate precautions to ensure competitors, officials or other members of the public are not at risk of injury. No stallion may be ridden on the showground or in competition by children under the age of 18 years.
7. Once the class has started no change of rider or handler will be allowed.

9. It is recommended that all riders wear back protectors in jumping classes.
10. The wearing of spurs is forbidden for riders 16 years and under in all classes.
11. Martingales are not allowed in any ridden class.
12. All competitors/riders must wear correctly fastened hats to current approved safety standards.
13. Correct riding attire must be worn in the ring when competing, or in the case of handlers, grooms and dressage/ riding test callers, correct stable dress may be worn. The steward may refuse entry to anyone not properly attired.
14. The show Committee/judge reserves the right to ask a competitor to be removed from the ring, if the horse is unfit for competition through lameness, stress or fatigue.
1. By competing at Wollombi Valley Pony Club, you are agreeing to the terms and conditions. (AHBSA Rules)
2. Neither Wollombi Valley or AHBSA, nor any of its representative or staff shall be held liable for any accident, injury or damage or loss whatsoever, caused to any person, animal or property at any time. When you enter this event, you agree to waiver on Nominate.
3. Yards may only be occupied by those who have booked and prepaid for them with show entries and allocated by the Show
5. All stables will be inspected on departure, the stable is left in a clean and tidy state.
Failing to leave the stable clean, tidy and with banks as found will incur a $30.00penalty charge to the person to whom that stable was allocated.
6. You are responsible for any damage caused by you or your horse.
7. All areas of Wollombi Pony Club Grounds be left clean and tidy. PLEASE dispose of your litter thoughtfully in bins provided.
8. Please do not muck out into the carparks and keep walkways and general showgrounds clean.
9. No horse can be tied to the side of float except during tack up.

14. Lunging is only allowed in the Paddock Arena and not in the arena area.
15. Children must always be under adult supervision.
16. For those staying overnight and who have booked yards on Nominate, in the evening make sure the main gate is closed.
The law requires that you must take reasonable steps to ensure your horse/pony:
1. Has a suitable environment to live in.
2. Has a healthy diet.
3. Can behave normally.
4. Has appropriate company.
5. Is protected from pain, suffering, injury and disease.
