Open Encourage Gymkhana

The Semi-Annual Encourage Gymkhana is a chance for all riders to get our competing in a safe, fun and uplifting environment. 

Come dressed up in your western shirt or show jacket, come platted up or let it flow - we are open to all types and styles! 

We love encouraging those riding their first competition of the first time back after a few years brake! 

This event is for all ages and stages - there is something for everyone

Also, talk to us about Inclusion for people with disabilities - The Riding Patch Gymkhanas are a great opportunity to integrate all riders in an encouraging environment.

Lead Rein, Novelties & Obstacle Classes
Walk & Trot Classes
Walk, Trot & Canter Classes
Adult Only WT & WTC Classes*

*Adult Riders, for those looking for lead and walk only classes, please enter the Adult walk-trot classes and we will divide the classes on the day.

Ring options for riders:
Riders can only select one ring and the novelties & obstacles(WT or WTC) (excluding lead rein ring)

- Novelties Ring (WT, WTC & AO included)

$8 per class

$10 per Obstacle class

Late Fees: $10 after 11th Nov. No Entries are taken on the day. 

Attire: Neat & tidy dress, approved helmet & riding boots. Horses to be in snaffle bits & any saddle, plaiting not essential

Rules & Conditions

1. Judge’s decision is final.
2. All competitors MUST check in at the office and sign waiver form before riding
3. All competitors MUST wear wristband at all times.
4. Approved helmet and riding boots MUST be worn when riding horses and checked off at the event office before riding. (ASA3838 and Other standards will be checked and allowed depending on the date of manufacture. Helmets MUST BE within 5 years from the date of manufacture. EN1384 is NOT are not permitted)
5. Program will be subject to change without notice.
6. Competitors may ride in only one hack ring of your choice: LR Ring OR Walk Trot Ring OR Walk Trot Canter Ring OR Adult Ring. (Excludes the Novelties Ring)
7. Competitors MUST be able to canter to enter the Walk Trot Canter Ring.
8. All competitors enter at their own risk with no responsibility accepted by The Riding Patch or its delegates and volunteers.
9. Ages of riders are as on the day of the show.
10. The Judges/stewards will have the right to remove any person/rider behaving in an unruly manner.
11. No dogs allowed.
12. Large classes will be split
13. As rings cross over throughout the day - NO classes will be held. Please be on time and present to the judge once the class is called. 
14. All Classes $8
15. No Entries will be taken after the closing date or on the day
16. If your Entries are not in our office and paid in full before close of business on the closing date, your entries will not be accepted.  
17. Places are limited and if max capacity is reached, riders will be placed on a waiting list.

Weather Policy: The event will only be postponed if the weather is too windy, wet or over 35°C. The final call will be made and posted on FB and If you're not sure about the weather please call office to confirm on 0417 315 308.
