The June training day will offer lots of options for our members!
Dressage Protocol, Flatwork Lessons, Jump Club and Obstacles
DRESSAGE PROTOCOL AND FLATWORK:
In preparation for the BRC Ranch Trail Competition on the August Training Day we have booked Kate O'Connor for dressage protocol. Kate is a well known and respected local instructor. If you wish to do protocol you can choose which test to ride. Each session will be for 20min, and you will have the opportunity to ride your chosen test once and receive feedback from Kate. The choices are:
-The cowboy dressage test that will be part of the upcoming Ranch comp (ridden in a 20m x 40m arena) Cowboy Dressage Test 1A or
- EA Prep Test 1 or
- EA Prelim Test 1.1
Details and link for tests are below.
As well as doing protocol, Kate will be offering group flatwork/ horsemanship lessons. The lessons will be in groups of maximum 4 riders for 1 hour. This may provide an opportunity to follow up on any advice given to you by Kate if you have done a protocol session with her.
Note: There are limited spaces available for dressage protocol and flatwork lessons.
JUMP CLUB: For those that love jumping, Melinda, our jumping committee coordinator, will have a short jump course setup in the showjumping arena. This will be a low key opportunity to practice in groups of up to 6 riders.
Select the height that best suits your cabability and interest when you enter by answering yes or no at height selection and note you can only select one height option .
Note: stock saddles may be used up to a height of 50cm.
OBSTACLES: Lisa will be setting up an array of obstacles in the undercover arena with a view to getting in some practice for the Ranch Trail comp. They will provide an opportunity to expose your horse to new obstacles or practice your skills in completing the obstacles correctly. Obstacles will be available to practice on in a time that suits you, noting there is a max of 6 riders at any given time in the arena.
Lunch will be provided and is included in the cost.
