MEA's Autumn Dressage Competition: Our unofficial Dressage Competition should enable a great experience for horse and riders, particularly those who are new to the sport or are introducing young horses to competition.
Location: Welcome to O'Brien Reserve, the home of the Monaro Equestrian Association, 35 O'Brien Ave Berridale. The grounds are quiet, set between Myack Creek and small hobby farms. There is ample room for parking with floats. Arena 1 is a fully fenced sand arena and Arena 2 will be on grass. There is a round yard for lunging. Overnight campers will need to bring their own horse yards.
Presentation and Prizes: Our competition is about having a fun and social time with your fellow riders and the horses. Ribbons to fifth place for each class as well as a number of prizes will be presented after the last test. Prizes will be based on lucky draws rather than the highest scores. However, sashes will be awarded to the highest percentage rider for each of the three districts. Which district do you identify with?:
Catering: Our clubhouse has a kitchen which is fully equipped. If you are camping please bring Friday dinner and Saturday breakfast. Tea and Coffee will be available for all from the kitchen throughout the day. A free sausage sizzle will be served for everyone at the conclusion of comeptition. We will hold the presentation of prizes and awards at this time.
Camping: The clubhouse will be open from Friday afternoon onwards. BYO food for Friday and Saturday morning. Camping will be between the clubhouse and the fenced "Dog Arena". There are four outdoor power points for powered sites.
