This is a closed/restricted Adult Riding Club event for BRC Members and Members of EA who are 18 years of age and over.
Dressage and Show Jumping
Combined Training classes with Eventing Dressage Tests.
Additional classes available with Prep, Prelim and Novice tests + Additional Show Jump Rounds (EA Show Jumping and Dressage Rules) available.
**Additional Show Jumping rounds should be at the next height - ie if you enter CT45cm your additional jump round should be 60cm. If entering 80cm you can stay at that level but only your first round will count to your Combined Training Class.
**Update to Additional Showjumping Rounds
**You may now enter an additional show jumping round at the SAME HEIGHT (maximum of 2 SJ rounds on the day) however, only your first round will count to your Combined Training Class or be competitive. **Your second round at the same height will be considered to be Hors Concours (HC) ie without competition. We encourage you to ride 2 consecutive heights but understand if you don't wish to 
RIDERS MAY ONLY RIDE ONE Horse On the Day - One Horse - One Rider. NO EXCEPTIONS!
Horses may only compete in a maximum of 2 dressage tests and 2 show jumping rounds on the day (including the combined training classes). ie you could enter One combined training class and then also One additional dressage test (same or consecutive level) and One additional jumping round. Or you could enter Two dressage tests (consecutive levels) and Two show jumping rounds (consecutive heights to be competitive in both).
Classes 1-4 (Combined Training) Dressage and Showjumping rounds will be judged per **EA dressage and show jumping rules.
Classes 8-11 (Additional Show Jumping Rounds)
**Update to Showjumping Phase of Combined Training.
In consultation with the Show jump judge, it was decided that time penalties for Classes 1-4 will be calculated in the same way as for Classes 8-11. **That is, ALL show jump rounds will be judged using EA show jumping rules for a single round ridden to Optimum Time (*except that the time allowed will be based on a speed of 300mpm)
Time allowed is 10 seconds over or under the calculated Optimum Time. Riders with equality of penalties are placed in accordance with the time closest either side to the Optimum Time. Riders who come in under or over the Optimum Time by more than 10 seconds will have 1 time penalty added to their score for every elapsed second over the ten seconds.

Combined Training - Classes 1 to 4: sashes will be awarded to 5th place.
Prizes for Highest Dressage Percentage and Closest to Optimum Time (and with zero jumping penalties) will be awarded in each class.
Scoring is based on lowest penalties overall. In the case of equal penalties there will be a countback to the lowest dressage penalties first, followed by the closest showjump round to Optimum Time.
Dressage Classes 5, 6 & 7 - Ribbons to 8th Place
Show Jumping Classes 8-11 - Ribbons to 5th Place
GEAR CHECK - You must proceed to gear check immediately AFTER your dressage test, and again PRIOR to your show jump round. It is the responsibility of the rider to comply with this (New) rule.
GENERAL RULES -
- Horses Must Be a Minimum of 4 years of age to enter this event.
- Riding helmets and riding boots must be worn whilst mounted.
- Plaiting of horses is optional.
- Riding jackets are optional.
- Riders should wear light-coloured jodhpurs/breeches and a shirt with collar and sleeves and be neat and tidy.
- Dogs, if they have to come, must be on lead at all times.
- ALL HELMETS MUST BE TAGGED.
Dressage Gear Rules:
- An ordinary snaffle bit must be used, with or without* a noseband.
- Treeless, Stock and Fender type saddles ARE permitted.* (* = BRC rule exceptions for this event)
- **Whips are permitted in the dressage phase for classes 1-4 and in dressage classes 5-7.
- Martingales, bandages, leg or hoof boots are not permitted.
- A breastplate without rings is permitted.
- Callers are permitted, but riders may not ask for directions.
- Gloves must be worn in the dressage.
