presents

Wild West Sporting and Obstacle Bonanza

**with Polework Exercises**

Welcome all to our first club day for 2025!

We are kicking off with a low-key sporting comp, an obstacle course and polework exercises.

The theme for the day is The Wild West, so come dressed up as a cowboy or Indian just to add some extra fun.

A couple of prizes are up for grabs for best dressed.

How the day will run:

Sporting: Everyone to arrive 8-8.15am, and assist with setup, which will be on the Main arena

There will be 2 groups – Walk/trot (Group 1), trot/canter (Group 2).

This will be a friendly club comp with fun prizes to win.

Group 1 – Are to be saddled and ready to ride at sporting @ 9am.

Group 2 - Upon arrival are to put your horse in a yard and be on the main arena @ 9am sharp to
assist with game setting up / resetting, assist riders for Group 1.

When Group 1 has completed all games, a short break will be had to allow time for Group 2 to
saddle and Group 1 to unsaddle and put horses away.

Group 2 will then complete games with Group 1 assisting.

When all sporting groups are finished lunch will be on offer - we anticipate this will be at about 12 midday

Obstacles – An array of obstacles will be setup on the main arena of the showground.

Members who are not doing sporting are encouraged to come on the day to do obstacles at their own pace and level.

Sporting participants will have an opportunity to do obstacles after lunch or when sporting has completed.

Polework Exercises -

Poles will be setup on the sand dressage arenas to give members ideas of simple exercises they can do with their horse.

Polework can be a great addition to your riding and training routine keeping things fresh and interesting for both you and your horse. You only need a flat area, no arena required. It improves balance, flexion and coordination, just to name a few benefits.

Sporting participants again will have an opportunity to do polework once sporting is completed. A committee member will be on hand at the sand arenas to guide you.

You must register to attend any/all of these activities, even if you are not riding but just bringing your horse out for exposure.  All BRC members are welcome!

EDIT 29/1/2025 - Please register for the day and then choose the Yes/No options if you would like to also do poles or obstacles.

Also please choose Yes/No for each Sporting Group - this will help us to save time on the day!

PLEASE STAY TO ASSIST WITH PACK UP AT THE END OF THE DAY - MANY HANDS MAKE LIGHT WORK.

Please note that the SJ paddock and Cross Country course will not be available for use and are not part of the BRC training day.

A delicious lunch is included in the fee - which is $25.

Lets hope the weather is kind to us for our first day back.

See you there!

Lisa
