Saturday Showjumping, Cross Country and Dressage
The next morning, Saturday, March 16th, we will start early with cross country training and showjumping with Nic and George.
After riding, there will then be a social Lunch in the clubhouse. Fernances Creek will put on a nice lunch that will include vegetarian options.
After lunch, there will be showjumping or cross country rounds depending on what everyone wants to do. You may also opt to ride a dressage test with Nic after lunch.
When you are doing your entry there will be questions to indicate what you would like to do after lunch.
Format of the Weekend
1. Friday Ride Twilight Showjumping Rounds/Dressage /BBQ and Camp
Arrive late afternoon and have a few practice rounds of Showjumping
Enjoy a Clubhouse BBQ and campfire.
Enter Class name Friday Ride: showjumping rounds and dressage practice. Yard, Friday night camping and BYO BBQ or hotdogs included.
Please answer the complusory questions so we know how many yards to allocate.
2. Saturday Ride Early Start Cross Country/Showjumping with Nic or George
Cross Country lessons will start early with Cross Country/Showjumping. The total ride time one hour with each instructor. After lunch, you will then have the option to have rounds on the cross country, showjumping or dressage as a group with the instructor watching your rounds.
In the past, we offered 2 hour sessions with each instructor. The riders indicated that was too much for the riders and horses. Now we offer more riding after lunch in the form of rounds that are watched by the instructor. This is optional and should be indicated on your entry when you answer the questions.
Order extra spectator lunches under Options for your friends and family if they are coming.
About George Johnson
GEORGE JOHNSON - LEVEL 2 EA SHOWJUMPING SPECIALIST COACH
George is widely respected as a stylish and consistent competition rider. A former member of the National YR SJ Squad, George now competes at World Cup shows across the country. He is a great coach and we have had very good feedback from his previous clinics here. He has a great connection with riders at all levels and ages and we are pleased to have him back at Fernances Creek. If you are just starting out or preparing for your next event, George will improve your skills.
He regularly travels to compete at most major events and enjoys regular success with his horses Ozbred & Wondaree Sprite (owned by Kate Wallace from Victoria).
George applies the same sympathetic and conscientious approach to his training of young horses. He is also gaining a popular following as an insightful & thorough coach.
George is available to teach and conduct clinics and also takes horses for training and competition campaigning.
About Nic Chipperfield
Nic Chipperfield is an EA LVL 1 coach with many years of eventing and dressage riding experience. She is great with adults and kids and has been coaching at Fernances Creek for several years, She is a much loved coach by us and her students. She will take you and your horse through the paces no matter what level you are riding.
The format of the day will allow for coaching as well as a round on the course. If there are specific jumps you want to jump or need to jump higher or lower, just ask Nic. It will be a fun day and allow you to prepare for other events if you are competing. If you have a new horse or just want to improve your riding, this is the training day for you.
If you are planning to do rounds after lunch, book in for class five. We will also have the dressage arena open if you want to practice your test on your own.
