CATEGORY DESCRIPTIONS
Foundation (equivalent to beginner)
For riders and/or horses new to Super Utility or obstacle-based events. Ideal for first-timers, green horses, and combinations building confidence. Low-pressure and welcoming.
Encouragement (equivalent to maiden)
For combinations with some experience who are developing confidence and consistency. A progression step up from Foundation without the intensity of higher levels.
Intermediate (equivalent to novice)
For confident, capable riders and established horses. Suits combinations comfortable with obstacles, pace, and technical patterns, and ready for competitive riding.
Open
For experienced riders and well-educated horses. Highest level of difficulty, speed, and technicality. Suited to seasoned Super Utility or similar competitors.
Youth (13–17 years)
Open to riders aged 13–17 years (age as at day of competition). A supportive category for young riders to compete against peers and develop skills and confidence.
