As a member of Australian Ranch Horse, you receive:

• Membership is for a 12-month period from 1st January to 31st December each year.
• Official membership to compete in sanctioned Australian Ranch Horse events
• Selection of classes designed to provide levels of competition for everyone
• Regular updates of what is happening in our newsletter
• Members are eligible to participate in:
• End of Year Awards
• Points and Achievement Awards for your horse
• Horse Licence required to receive points and awards.

Membership Categories:

• Individual Membership is $85.00, including one competition card (Open, Amateur, Novice Amateur, Amateur Freshman)
• Individual Membership $55.00 (non-competitor and non-competitor horse owner)
• Family Membership is $120.00 for people in the same household (two addults and two children)
• Competition cards $10.00 (for individual family members)
• Youth Membership Free. (Youth will be required to have a competition card to compete.)

All horse owners, competing and non-competing, must be current members of Australian Ranch Horse for their horse to be eligible to compete.

All support staff that will be astride a horse at an event, are required to a member.

COMPETITOR ELIGIBILITY:

Eligibility is based on your previous show experience in any western or performance horse shows and not just ranch classes.

Amateur Freshman is for any person who is a beginner and new to showing with little or no experience in showing horses. If you have actively participated in another equine organisation or discipline for 3 consecutive years, bartered any type of remuneration for training astride, showing or giving lessons you are NOT considered a Freshman, therefore ineligible to compete in the Amateur Freshman division. The Amateur Freshman is deemed to be the rider. To be eligible as an Amateur Freshman, you cannot have won more than 3 times with more than one competitor at any show. Riders may use a horse without the restriction of ownership but the owner of said horse must be a current member. Western attire is not compulsory for freshman riders, but equipment must be neat, safe and serviceable and the individual look clean and presentable. Bridle of the horse can be snaffle, hackamore or bridle in all classes. Two-handed bridle is accepted.

NOVICE AMATEUR classes are for those that are transitioning from Amateur Freshman to Amateur competitors and have at least two years show or event experience in ARH or other performance and breed association shows/events. You may obtain novice amateur status if you have not won more than five events/classes, cumulatively (overall) in any classes excluding conformation classes at any shows, or other similar events run by an association, including different disciplines or breeds. Winners and placegetters of campdrafts and feature events such as challenges are excluded from this class.

Ranch style western Attire is compulsory. Bridle of the horse can be snaffle, hackamore or bridle in all classes. Two-handed bridle is accepted.

An Amateur Freshman can show only in Amateur Freshman classes. Novice Amateur can only show in Novice Amateur classes.

YOUTH AND NOVICE YOUTH are 18 years and under as at 1^st July of the current year. Novice Youth may not have won more than five events/classes, cumulatively (overall) in any classes excluding conformation classes at any shows, or other similar events run by an Association, including different disciplines or breeds.
