Top End Practical Shooting League is a rural Sport Shooting Club located on Chibnall Road, Acacia Hills in the Northern Territory. As the name entails, TEPSL is a Practical shooting club.

Practical shooting is an International competition that is shot on all continents, with local, state, national, regional and international championships happening on a regular basis. The Sport is controlled by IPSC (International Practical Shooting Confederation) IPSC Australia Inc. is the body recognised in Australia for the administration and regulation of the sport of Practical Shooting.

In Practical competitions, a variety of target types are used (paper and steel, stationary and moving, scoring targets and penalty targets).

There are no set ways that these targets are arranged, nor even how many targets are used in a single match.

Shooting stages typically requires competitors to move away from a starting position to enable then to see and engage the targets. This adds an athletic element to the test as well as an intellectual one in that the competitor is required to work out the most efficient manner and order of engaging the targets, taking into account his/her own shooting skills and athleticism, the competitor is then scored on his/her time and accuracy.

Practical competitions are most often for center-fire pistols and revolvers of calibers from 9mm to .38, competitions are also held for rifle and/or shotgun.

TEPSL has 22 pistol/shotgun ranges, a dedicated shotgun range along with a dedicated rifle range for distances from 100 meters out to 500 meters. This makes TEPSL one of the best facilities in Australia for the sport of practical shooting, we are one of only a few clubs in Australia capable of hosting combined handgun, rifle and shotgun National Championships.
