& "Come and Try"

ARENA & OBSTACLES FAMILIARISATION

Location: Tall Timbers PC Grounds 

Sunday 9th February 2025

8:00am to 1:30pm 

Total running time: 8:00am to 1:30pm please ensure you are available to commit for the whole time, ALL participants are expected to help set up and pack away.

Gates Open: 7:30am

Time: Arrive Before 8:00am park and unload

Arrival Time & Set up: from 8:00am Arrive at Tall Timbers PC Grounds, ALL participants are expected to help set up even if they are travelling from further away. 

Sign in table opens: 8:00am this is when H2H Members can put their name down for a 20min arena session with 2 people. Depending on numbers there may not be enough arena session slots to accomodate every member entered. 

Sessions will fill in on a "first come first serve" basis, so if you are really keen for a particular session make sure you arrive before 8:00am so you can be first in line!

"Come and Try" participants will start off with a group session all together in the arena and will then move up to the obstacle paddock where they will be taken around the obstacles with a mentor. There will be a short amount of time after this to have some free time on the obstacles, plus they will get a chance to ride a whole round on one of the courses.

Morning Briefing: 9:00am President’s Welcome and rider briefing. Tall Timbers Grounds etiquette and rules will be explained. Located in front of the Club House.

"Come and Try" Arena Group Sessions: 9:30am to 10:00am and 10:00am to 10:30am.

Ridden Obstacle Session with Mark Mason: 10:30am to 11:30am this session is for riders wanting to use softer and clearer aids and how to achieve this through ground and ridden exercises. Maximum 5 riders.

Arena Familiarisation: 11:30am to 1:30pm. Riders will have a pre-selected 20 minute time slot to ride in the arena. Please ensure you are time-aware. If you are late you will only have the remaining time or miss out.

Mentored Obstacles: 9:30am - 11:30am (approx.) in obstacle paddock.

Obstacle Courses: From 10:00am there will be 2 Obstacle Courses set up. 1 will be mentored for Intro/Prep Riders, & a 2nd unmentored course for Prelim & above riders. Once the mentored sessions have finished 1 of the courses will be allocated for riding a whole course. There will be a sheet to write your name on the queue. These spots are not timed, you ride your round and then the next person goes. All participants will have an opportunity to ride a whole course just remember to write your name on the list!

Only for emergency reasons can participants leave before packing up.

Pack up and Lunch 1:30pm finish. All obstacles in top paddock and arena to be packed away.

**ALL PARTICIPANTS TO ASSIST**

Sausage Sizzle Lunch after pack up - please bring $5 cash.

Additional information:

Please don't enter if you have another commitment in the afternoon which you need to dash off too before packing up.

If participants need to leave before pack up – please inform committee member.
