BRC presents South Coast trail riding camping weekend 18-20 September 2026

Where Are We Going? South Winds Equestrian Centre, Bingie Rd, Bergalia.

This beautiful Equestrian Centre is on Bingie Rd approximately 1 km off the Princes Highway south of Moruya.

Facilities

A large paddock with lovely views is provided for camping adjacent to the horse yards. There are 10 horse yards with very good cattle yard fencing, 4 of which are covered. There is a toilet and shower close by. Power is available for floats if wanted. About 3 minutes walk from the camping area (and next to the covered arena) there is a large gazebo area that overlooks a swimming pool. There is a wood bbq, a small fridge and a microwave and a kettle available here as well as a large dining table. Basic tea and coffee supplies will be provided. There is a second toilet and shower here too.

The property is 120 acres and it is possible to do a short ride down to the dam. The camping area is easy drive in and out with the floats. There is a covered arena and a round yard. Some fixed obstacles eg a bridge, are adjacent to the arena.

Draft Schedule for the weekend

We shall meet approx lunchtime on Friday 10th to do an easy lovely trail ride near Potato Point, approximately 2.5-hour return to overlook the Tuross River inlet. Riding is on fire trails, so horse boots or shoes are required. After our ride we will head to the South Winds Equestrian Centre to set up camp and settle in. Perhaps a swim in the pool? Or some board games over dinner?

Early Saturday morning (about 6.30am departure time tbc) we will float a very short distance to a point where we can join the Bingie Dreaming Track. We will ride for approximately one and half hours (very flexible) along this beautiful track which includes a stretch along a beach that will be good for introducing those horses new to beach riding. We will then return to the equestrian centre for breakfast or morning tea. The rest of the day will be spent playing with the various obstacles, do some polework or simply utilizing the covered arena.

Lisa Camp will be on hand to provide ideas and help. Perhaps a short ride down to the dam if still feeling energetic? Or just chill with your horse?

Sunday morning, we will pack up and head to Bodalla State Forest near Potato Point for another beautiful 2–3-hour ride along fire trails with views overlooking the Lake. Once again, we can have some time playing on a beautiful beach along the way. After the ride it is time to head home.

Cost and Other Info

Total $110 per rider includes camping x 2 nights, horse yard x 2 nights and arena hire Saturday

Each to provide own food and equipment for both horse and rider. Full directions for meeting points will be provided to those who register.

Numbers limited to 8 riders. This trip is weather dependent and a decision will be made a week out if proceeding.

There will be no refunds if you pull out, but you are welcome to find a replacement instead.
