WE have been lucky enough to engage Mary Seefried (FEI Judge) for our annual Janet Sparkes Club Championship Day 2026!
She is coming from lunchtime Friday 17th to lunchtime Sunday 19th. The program will be very flexible, but we are proposing the following as a guide -
Friday afternoon, Driving Protocol test sessions at 12 Grrenwood Creek Rd, Nanango. Protocol sessions are run to make you more confident befoe your next competition. You come in, present to judge as in a real competition, then ride or drive your test, as you would in a competition. At the end, you and the judge have a discussion about what worked, and where your skills an your horse's skills need more work. Then you practice some movements to put you on the right path. Each session is half an hour.
Saturday morning, riding Protocol test sessions at either Sue Cox's beautiful undercover arena at the end of Hohnke's Rd, Nanango, or at 12 Greenwood Creek Rd, Nanango, your choice.
Saturday afternoon, Driving Competition at 12 Greenwood Creek Rd, Nanango.
Sunday morning, Riding Competition at 12 Greenwood Creek Rd, Nanango.
To be eligible for the Janet Sparkes Ridden Dressage award, you must be a current member of SBEG, enter the Prep and Prelim class, AND you must not have won it before.
To be eligible for the President's Cup, you must be a current SBEG member under 18 years and you must enter the Prep and Prelim class, AND you must not have won it before.
The entrants for the Janet Sparkes and President's Cup awards must be in formal outfits and be plaited, etc.
Those entering other classes must be neat and tidy, and sun-safe.
Helmets are compulsory in every class.
Body Protectors of any level are compulsory on a carriage. Backsteppers for singles over 108cm are required on the carriage. Singles under this height may use an on-the-ground groom.
There will be prizes for Disability athletes and Geriatric athletes in every class.
There are yards, undercover yards and camping available at Nanango Showgrounds.
