LIGHTS, CAMERAS, ACTION!!
Samford Equestrian Group aka ‘SEG’ is excited to announce a special 2-hour twilight family show spectacular this Sunday 6th April at 4.30pm. Open to the whole community (not just members), this action-packed event has something for everyone - young or old, novice or pro, is budget-friendly and includes everything!
The show features not-to-be-missed trick routines at liberty showcasing some very talented miniature horses. Starting with the warm-up Act 1, a once-terrified rescue mini ‘Bubba’ is now making her stage debut in middle-age. SEG member and host Kath Evans (pictured) of Mini All-Stars Horsemanship says it’s never too late to learn or improve, no matter the horse.
Act 2 is Mini Maypole Dancing (possibly unsolicited prancing) to music with four minis in hand… cameras at the ready folks! Act 3 is the ‘mane’ event with star performer ‘Benny’ (pictured), a retired carriage driving champion with some amazing never-before-seen tricks.
Intermission follows with socialising and lucky door prizes thanks to generous sponsors, including vouchers for child’s riding lesson at Lindy McGahey Equestrian and Horsemanship coaching by Kath Evans. Line up for free cuddles and photo opportunities with the stars ‘inside’ the cute stables backdrop. Optional extra: professional photographer will be onsite to capture that treasured family portrait with horses at heavily discounted rates.
Guru miniature horse owners - Ian & Marilyn Taylor will be on hand with their extensive expertise about minis – everything from breeding, judging and winning competitions at national and state level, there’s not much they don’t know about this wonderful breed. Additionally, other experienced club members will be there to share their wealth of equestrian knowledge on all things bigger horses, or various disciplines and what’s on offer at SEG for every level.
At sunset, our final Act 4 segment features more horsey entertainment under our fabulous new arena lights - thanks again to QLD Govt (DTIS) and Council (MBRC) grants funding. The grand finale includes a collage of diverse horses with commentary and training tips, demonstrating impressive in-hand ‘long-lining’ skills and talented riding to inspire one and all.
