General:  All events will be held in accordance with current ANWEL Rule Book.  The onus is on the competitor to know the rules.

Bridle numbers:  Bridle numbers are compulsory.  Bridle numbers must be provided at the time of entry on Nominate.  Two bridle numbers, one on each side of the horse, must be clearly displayed while riding in front of the Judge.

Volunteers:  To make this event enjoyable for everyone ALL riders will be allocated a small ground crew job during the event eg course setter, gear steward, penciller etc.  You will receive a run sheet after the closing date.  It is a condition of entry that you volunteer some of your time or you can substitute a family friend or relative.

Scratchings:  Will be accepted up to the closing date of the event.

Refunds:  50% refunds less the Administration fee and Nominate processing fee will be given if scratched before the closing date.  Scratchings after the closing date with a vet’s or doctor’s certificate within 2 days of the event will be refunded 20% of the entry fee (Admin fee and Nominate processing fee is not refundable and Nominate processing fee).  All refunds will be via Nominate within 10-14 days after the event.

Levels:  All levels from Introductory to Masters.
Horses must enter at their normal competition level or higher.  Proof may be required.  Horses may only compete at one level per event.  You may choose to enter any level *HC (non-competitive).

* you will be judged and scored but not ribboned or placed.

One rider per horse for the entire event.  However, you may enter more than one horse.

No horses are to be ridden at the event or on event grounds unless they are entered in the event.

Riders with restricted movement preventing correct execution of an obstacle must provide a medical certificate to the Organising Committee at the time of entry.  It is the rider’s responsibility to present their certificate to the relevant Judge.

Draw:  Every attempt is made to accommodate riders, horses and tests within appropriate time frames as recommended by EA.  However, the Organising Committee reserves the right to design the draw in the most appropriate manner to suit all competitors.  The Organising Committee has the final say regarding the draw and protracted discussions will not be entertained. The draw will be emailed to all entrants.  Draw position cannot be changed without the permission of the Organising Committee.

Draw Times:  Times must be STRICTLY observed.  If you are late you may be eliminated from that phase.  Although you may still compete in the next phase.

Code of conduct:  Please be aware that ANWEL has a yellow card offence system in place.  Please refer to the ANWEL Rule Book.

Competition:  Riding on course prior to the event will result in elimination.

Cancellation:  In the event the competition is cancelled as determined by the Organising Committee at its discretion, entry fees will be refunded less the $15.00 administration fee and Nominate Processing Fee. These fees are non-refundable. The CEI Facebook page will be updated in the event of any changes.  Any changes after the closing date will be notified to all entered competitors by email via Nominate.

Callers:  Callers are permitted in all phases:

- Working Equitation Dressage phase will be penalised 5 points

- Working Equitation Ease of Handling phase will be penalised 5 points

- Speed Phase will receive a 10 second penality.

Tack/Attire:  Each RIDER is to present in the correct tack/attire.  Check the ANWEL Rulebook if you are unsure.

Gear Check:  Gear checks for riders and horses are compulsory before each phase by the Gear Steward.  Elimination will occur if gear checks are not completed at the correct time.  Hard helmets are mandatory for all CEI Working Equitation Events.  The Gear Steward is qualified to tag EA approved helmets.

Please be aware of restrictions on gear changes between phases.  Failure to do so may cause elimination.  

Tack not Permitted:  PLEASE READ THE ANWEL RULE BOOK CAREFULLY FOR TACK REQUIREMENTS.  Be aware of the latest Rule Book adjustments.  See link to latest Rule Book above.

Walking course:  Times WILL BE STRICTLY adhered to as per the draw when issued.  A course walk with the course builder will be available - see draw times.  The course must be walked in full competition attire.

Course Check:  Be aware that it is the rider’s responsibility to make sure the course has been re-set before you start your ride.  It is NOT the responsibility of the Judges or ground crew so check before you start.

Dogs:  All dogs must be kept on a leash.  Dogs, children, prams etc. are not allowed in the actual competition and warmup areas.

Veterinary checks:  Random swabbing may take place. If approached by the Official Steward/Vet Officer of the day, the person responsible for the horse must allow samples to be taken

Disputes:  From time to time there may be the need to lodge a protest in relation to the results of a competition.  In these instances, it is essential to follow the Protest Protocol in the ANWEL Rule Book Section 9.  Judge’s decision is FINAL.

Ground jury will be named and included in the riders’ draw.

Accommodation:  Camp Sites / Stables / Day Yards and Day Stays should be booked directly with K Ranch via Nominate.

Warm Up Arenas:  Please be considerate of other horses warming up and observe arena rules i.e. left shoulder to left shoulder, walk on the inside track, look where you are going etc.

Scoring:  Will be in accordance with the ANWEL Rule Book.  Results will be available via Nominate live scoring.  Final results will be posted at least 30 minutes prior to the final presentation.

Queries:  All Questions regarding this event will only be answered via email (glynis.dickinson@bigpond.com) up to 48 hours before the event.

Photo & Video:  It is a condition of entry that any photo or video taken at the competition may be used by CEI for promotional or educational purposes.  Please advise the Organising Committee if you DO NOT wish photos of you or your horse to be used.

Risk Warning and Disclaimer:

1.  Horse riding is a dangerous activity and can result in serious injury (including death) and loss.

2.  All persons who ride or tend a horse on the competition grounds do so entirely at their own risk.

Any rider who fails to comply with the Conditions of Entry or a direction from any member of the Committee may be eliminated

Neither ANWEL or any of its affiliated States or Clubs, Equestrian Australia, the CEI Committee, nor any member thereof accepts any liability for any damage, accident, injury or illness (including death) to horse, owners, spectators and volunteers suffered by any person or property whatsoever.
