Events for the 5 & 6 April 2025
Because of limited cattle numbers, you can only nominate ONCE for Ranch Cutting and ONCE for Boxing events.
Ranch Sorting you can have two partners if you wish and nominate twice for that one. Must be different partners.
AFTER NOMINATIONS CLOSE, THERE ARE NO REFUNDS FOR ANY REASON.
BEFORE NOMINATIONS CLOSE, YOU CAN SCRATCH YOUR NOMINATION FOR REFUND minus Admin fee.
Class categories
Beginner horse/beginner rider category:
This is for a Horse or Rider who
Horses must be ridden in either a smooth snafflebit, bosal, hackamore or bitless bridle.
Unrestricted
Horses may be ridden one or two handed. One-handed riders will not incur any “1 Point” reining penalties in this class. No restriction on the type of bit or saddle used.
YOUTH
must be under 17yrs of age.
Rings with Stops can be used in youth
General Rules
Dress & Saddlery

Competitor is allowed to ride in saddlery of their own choice and horses can be worked in bits as setout in each category. However the horse must have free use of its head and any type of head tie-down, running reins, head checks etc. must not be used. Rings with Stops can be used in youth.
Saturday 5th April
Ranch Cutting $50 per run for adults; $30 per run for youth under 17.
Limit of one run per rider.

This event is teams of two, if you don’t have a partner we will put you with someone.
Sunday 6th April
Starting 8am until lunchtime/finish.
BOXING
Limit of one run per rider only.
$40 per adult $30 youth

The goal of this class is to introduce the rider to the "boxing" phase of the cow work, according to the NRCHA fulebook. You and your horse must keep the cow at the prescribed end of the arena for allocated time while you are judged on control, position, degree of difficulty, eye appeal and time worked.
There will be prize money up to third place for all events.
