Brief overview of classes:

Article 238.2.1 –One Round Stakes – fastest clear round wins

Article 238.2.2 – This is a competition not against the clock, but in the event of equality of penalties for first place, there will be a jump off against the clock. All riders who jump clear in the first round will be invited back to compete in the jump off at a raised height (approx. 5cm).

Half & Half (run under Article 238.2.1) - First half of the course will be at the lower height and the second half at the higher height

Odds & Evens Pairs Relay (run under Article 238.2.1) - This novelty relay is undertaken by two riders over a course of 8 or 10 jumps. The odd numbered obstacles will be 30cm and the even numbered obstacles will be 60cm. The obstacles are jumped in numerical order but with one of the riders jumping the ODD numbered obstacles and the other rider jumping the EVEN numbered obstacles. You must not jump an obstacle until your partner has jumped the preceding obstacle. Both riders must go through the starting flags. Only the rider jumping the final obstacle needs to go through the finish flags. Pairs entries may be allowed on the day (for $10) to help make up teams.

Top Score (Article 270) - The course comprises jumps of various heights each awarded points for degree of difficulty.  For example, in Class 6 there will be jumps of 10 cm, 20 cm, 30 cm, 40 cm, 50 cm, 60 cm and 70 cm worth 10 points, 20 points, etc., up to 70 points for the jump of 70 cm.
Riders have 60 seconds to jump a course in any order, accumulating points for jumps cleared.  Jumps can be jumped in either direction but may only be jumped twice.  You do not have to jump every jump on the course.   Each rider needs to work out the best order to suit them.
If a rail is knocked down you do not receive any points for that jump and it will not be replaced so if you had planned to jump that jump a second time you would not receive points so you may have to adapt your plan.
The bell will be rung at the conclusion of the fixed time at which time the rider must cross the finishing line - in either direction - where the time will be recorded.
The athlete who has obtained the highest number of points will be declared the winner. In the event of equality of points, the fastest time will decide.

Take Your Own Line (Article 271) –Riders must jump all the obstacles once in any order they choose. Riders may cross the start line and finish line in any direction. Fastest clear round wins.
