2021 marks the golden anniversary since the formation of the Australian Stock Horse Society so in lieu of the usual Bemboka Show on Sunday 14th March there will be a an Australian Stock Horse programme of 34 events. As per our Covid safety plan, all classes must be pre-entered via Nominate- There will be NO ENTRIES ON THE DAY. Entries will close at midnight on Sunday the 7th of March.
Our special feature Australian Stock Horse class entries are $2 per class, with prize money of $5 for 1st and $2 for 2nd, and a trophy rug for Supreme on offer, proudly sponsored by Bree Garland of Equissage Bree Equine Services NSW/VIC. Second Chance classes are FREE to anybody who hasn't won a class in that category on the day. There is a $5 grounds fee per horse attending, which will calculate automatically.
We are also proud to offer an Australian Stock Horse Challenge! The Challenge will be run in three categories- Under 12 years, 12-18 years, and Open. The Challenge consists of a Hack pattern, a Working pattern, and a Time Trial over obstacles, with the combination scoring highest in all three phases winning the Challenge. Patterns will be emailed to competitors after the entries close (which is on Sunday the 7th of March). Riders will be able to choose to perform their patterns when their schedule in Ring 1 allows, but we do ask riders to take the earliest opportunity possible to keep the day on schedule. The Youth classes will be $2 to enter, with prize money of $5 for 1st, $2 for 2nd, and ribbons to 5th place. The Open Challenge will be $10 to enter, with prize money of $50 for Champion (plus a trophy rug, proudly sponsored by Bree Garland of Equissage Bree Equine Services NSW/VIC), $25 for Reserve Champion, and ribbons for placegetters. Entries are currently capped at 30 horses for the Challenge, and class sizes are subject to change as entries are received.
All horses must be registered ASH unless ridden by a rider under 12 years old. Due to COVID, current ASH membership for riders and handlers is NOT required.
Camping is available in the form of powered and unpowered sites. There are no stables or permanent yards available, so competitors must make their own arrangements.
