Thoroughcare Bred to Race Series Event

Open to SFDC & EA Members and all thoroughbreds registered with the Australian Thoroughbred Studbook, including imported throughbreds and those that have not trialled or raced. Please see attatched flyers for all infomation. Prizemoney to 3rd on combined test results in each level. 

All normal Closed Unrestricted classes for SFDC and EA riders will be run as usual on the day. Bred to Race entrants will participate in our CU classes with their combined results determining prizemoney. Prizemoney only applies to Bred to Race entrants that qualify.

Winter Series Round 4!

This is round 4 of our annual winter series - run over 4 competitions with the top 3 scores counting towards your total score. Open to SFDC members only (its not too late to become a member!) All club member entries count towards winter series so no need to enter specific classes. 

Show Jumping Series Round 4

Show Jumping in a Freshmans atmosphere! Great competition for young or green horses, starting at poles on the ground up to 1m.

Closing date: Sunday 9th September. Late entries accepted until Monday 11th September (Late fees apply)

Conditions of entry and competitor notes:

• This event will be run under EA rules as they are applicable to this event and shall also include policies formulated by the organizing committee, which are available on the club’s website. We strongly recommend that all competitors obtain a copy of the relevant EA rules available on their website. EA gear rules apply to SFDC members.

• All riders, committee and visitors to sign in at canteen on arrival.

• Scratchings – please text Ali on 0487 518 832 as soon as you know you will not be attending.

• Bridle numbers must be worn by all horses on the grounds at all times for identification purposes. Horse who do not have EA numbers will be allocated a SFDC bridle number.

• All helmets must be EA tagged and safety standards checked before you ride. Ali Kirkman is our clubs helmet tagger. If your helmet needs to be tagged, please let Ali know at time of entry or Ali can be located in the canteen the morning of competition.

• To keep the day flowing, keep an eye on the draw and times and make sure you are ready to ride when it is your turn. You may start circling the arena as the previous rider leaves the arena. You may present to the judge but there is no need to stop, as long as you’ve made eye contact with the judge and they acknowledge that they have seen you and your bridle number. They will sound their horn/ring a bell and you have 45 seconds to begin your test.

• Approved, tagged helmets and smooth soled riding boots must be worn. On club days, we encourage riders to wear club polos with light coloured jodphurs/breeches. Official EA riders must wear official dress (jackets and white breeches) on Competitior/Participant days. Plaiting is encouraged but not compulsory at all events. White, navy or sky blue saddle pads can be used. Boots and bandages are not allowed as per EA rules.

• Results will be posted in the canteen within half an hour of the conclusion of a class. Test sheets and ribbons can be collected from the canteen after results are posted.

• There is no such thing as a silly question, please ask someone if you need help or clarification with anything throughout the competition! 😊 And don’t forget to have fun!
