ANWE strongly recommends that ALL riders/competitors at all State and or Club competitions, events and training days wear an approved safety helmet described in the ANWE Rule Books.

Equestrian Australian does not endorse the use of soft hats and regulated/certified helmets are required to be worn to meet Australian health and safety standards.

All riders under the age of 18 must wear a certified safety riding helmet.

“Neither the Organising Committee nor Horsesports Australia nor Equestrian Australia nor Australian National Working Equitation accepts any liability for any accident, damage, injury or illness to horses, riders, ground, spectators or anyvother person or property whatsoever.”

The Organisers reserve the right: To cancel any class or event; To divide any class; To transfer competitors between sections of a class; To alter the advertised times; To refuse any entry with or without stating the reason.

Refunds are available until closing date. Following this, a vet / doctor certificate is required for a 50% refund. Nominate and admin fees will be deducted from all scratchings.

Volunteers:  To make this event enjoyable for everyone ALL riders will be allocated a small ground crew job during the event eg course setter, gear steward, penciller etc.  You will receive a run sheet after the closing date.  It is a condition of entry that you volunteer some of your time or you can substitute a family friend or relative.

One rider per horse for the entire event.  However, you may enter more than one horse.

Every attempt is made to accommodate riders, horses and tests within appropriate time frames in the draw as recommended by EA.  However, the Organising Committee reserves the right to design the draw in the most appropriate manner to suit all competitors.  The Organising Committee has the final say regarding the draw. The draw will be emailed to all entrants.  Draw position cannot be changed without the permission of the Organising Committee. Draw times must be STRICTLY observed.  If you are late you may be eliminated from that phase.  Although you may still compete in the next phase.

Please be aware that ANWEL has a code of conduct yellow card offence system in place.  Please refer to the ANWEL Rule Book.

Riding on course prior to the event will result in elimination.

In the event the competition is cancelled as determined by the Organising Committee at its discretion, entry fees will be refunded less the $15.00 administration fee and Nominate Processing Fee. These fees are non-refundable.

Callers are permitted in all phases:

  • Dressage phase will be penalised 5 points
  • Ease of Handling phase will be penalised 5 points
  • Speed Phase will receive a 10 second penality.

Each RIDER is to present in the correct tack/attire.  Check the ANWEL Rulebook if you are unsure.

Gear checks for riders and horses are compulsory before each phase by the Gear Steward.  Elimination will occur if gear checks are not completed at the correct time.

Please be aware of restrictions on gear changes between phases.  Failure to do so may cause elimination.  PLEASE READ THE ANWEL RULE BOOK CAREFULLY FOR TACK REQUIREMENTS.

Times for walking the course WILL BE STRICTLY adhered to as per the draw when issued.  A course walk with the course builder will be available - see draw times.  The course must be walked in full competition attire.

Be aware that it is the rider’s responsibility to make sure the course has been re-set before you start your ride.  It is NOT the responsibility of the Judges or ground crew so check before you start.

Dogs:  All dogs must be kept on a lead at all times and must remain in the day parking & camping areas only.  Dogs, children, prams etc. are not allowed in the actual competition and warmup areas.

There may be the need to lodge a protest in relation to the results of a competition.  In these instances, it is essential to follow the Protest Protocol in the ANWEL Rule Book Section 9.  Judge’s decision is FINAL.

Ground jury will be named and included in the draw.

Please be considerate of other horses warming up and observe arena rules i.e. left shoulder to left shoulder, walk on the inside track, look where you are going etc.

Scoring will be in accordance with the ANWEL Rule Book. Results will be available via Nominate live scoring.  Final results will be posted at least 30 minutes prior to the final presentation.

Any photo or video taken at the competition may be used by BADWE for promotional or educational purposes.  Please advise the Organising Committee if you DO NOT wish photos of you or your horse to be used
