THREE PHASE CHALLENGE 2024

You and your equine friend are invited to the Dodges Ferry Horse Riding Club Three Phase Unofficial Competition.
Dressage, Show Jumping with poles on the ground through to 70 cm, and Obstacles.
Great opportunity for a fun day out and some great practice for competition season!
Riders age 4 and over - all stages welcome, lead rein, green horses, what's going on there, to the more confident.
Trophies for the overall champion and overall junior champion!
Nominate pre-entry PLEASE!! Let’s keep this running smooth and get your entries in early!
Four Sections available from Topsy and Beginner through to Novice 2.1, 70cm show jump and Obstacles!
Topsy (Beginner Led/assisted) Dressage Prep 1 ridden in a 40x20 arena; Show jump poles and cross poles; Obstacles
Beginners Prep 1 - poles/cross poles and jumps to 30 cm and Obstacles.
Novice Prelim 1.2, Show jump to 50cm, Obstacles
Novice Prelim 2.1, Show jump to 70cm, Obstacles
Gates open at 7:00am.
Full canteen facilities will be available throughout the day - Volunteers are required Please put your hand up!
Members cost $35.00 per horse and rider.
Non-Members $45.00 per horse and rider.
Wet/wild weather cancellations will be informed via Nominate and Facebook prior to 7:00am on the day.

THREE PHASE ENTRY - FINER DETAILS – please read!!
Timing of events - Dressage may cross over with obstacle timetable – Be prepared you may be sent to obstacles first!
Draw will provided for dressage and obstacles – Riders failing to turn up on time may not be permitted to ride – please listen for stewards. Scratchings may mean riders are required to ride early.
Dressage - Callers are permitted. Callers must call test only, coaching is prohibited.
JUMP COURSE SELECTION - Riders may choose to drop down a jump height course - however a penalty will be applied if you jump a course lower or higher than that specified in the Category entered – please notify early if choosing to do an alternative jump category!
Beginner class – you may choose to go around a jump, penalty will be applied. Please keep it safe!

CATEGORY= TOPSY Led rein or assisted only - (Designed for riders who have not competed in a dressage or eventing competition before)

Phase 2- OBSTACLE COURSE (parents guardians may assist) Designed and Judged by Chalked Horsemanship – expect to encounter a combination of ramps, a bridge, a gate, ground ladder and log manoeuvres and a water obstacle
Phase 3- Jumping = Poles on the ground, with jumps and crossovers Jumping - will be timed - Set course, penalties may apply to poor horsemanship **please remember to keep it safe, competitors may choose to go around a jump, penalties will apply**

CATEGORY= BEGINNER (Rider/horse combination are not to have competed in a dressage test higher than preliminary)

Phase 2- OBSTACLE COURSE Designed and Judged by Chalked Horsemanship – expect to encounter a combination of ramps, a bridge, a gate, ground ladder and log manoeuvres and a water obstacle – Time limit TBA
Phase 3- Jumping poles, cross rails/jumps to 20- 30cm - will be timed. Jumping = Poles on the ground, with jumps and crossovers to 30cm
Jumping - will be timed - Set course, penalties may apply to poor horsemanship **please remember to keep it safe, competitors may choose to go around a jump, penalties will apply**

CATEGORY= NOVICE (Designed for riders who do not compete regularly in dressage or eventing competition and/or are on green/young horses)
