Divisions (NNSWECA Club divisions)
NNSWECA Club divisions and club rules will apply to this competition in place of EXCA race divisions.
Races will run under all other EXCA rules https://extremecowboyassociation.com/rulebook.htm.
- NNSWECA CLUB Beginner: This division is for horses and riders that are new to obstacles and/or have never won a ribbon or placed in any horse event.
8 Obstacles rated 1-3, plus overall horsemanship and time points
- NNSWECA CLUB Intermediate
For riders with basic to medium riding skills such as backing, loping and side passing.
10-13 obstacles rated 1-4, plus overall horsemanship and time points
- NNSWECA CLUB Open
A rider with increased horsemanship skills such as speed and confidence in basic skills. Open division for all riders and levels
13 obstacles rated 1-6, plus overall horsemanship and time points
All participants shall sign the Participation and Liability Release Agreement. Under 18 must have their parent and/or legal guardian sign their Participation and Liability Release.
Prizes money to be awarded for each class
Late registration is open on the day from 7.30am. This is to allow riders in other ring events an opportunity to enter the Extreme Cowboy Race.
Between 7:30 -8:00am riders are permitted on the course. Registered riders will be able to access the course to familiarise their horses with obstacles and warming up their horses.
8.00am course walk through for Intermediate division
8.10am – Intermediate Division
9.25am - course walk through for Open division
9.30am - Open Division
10.45am course walk through for Beginner division
11.00am Beginner Division
12.00pm lunch
12.30 pm Ranch beginner
1.30 pm Ranch Intermediate
3.00pm – Finish/ prize awards
The safety of the rider and the horse are always most important please refer to clause’s 4, 29 and 30 of the EXCA rule book.
Exception to the EXCA rules for this competition are as follows.
- Maximum 2 runs per rider plus Ranch
- A horse may only be ridden once in a division.
- For this event, any type of saddle is permitted.
