Riders under the age of 16 years must have a parent, guardian or nominated adult onsite whilst competing in CPEC event nights.
COVID
We are following government guidelines and ask you not to attend our event if you are feeling unwell or presenting with symptoms.
CPEC Members Club – Membership
Our membership runs to the calendar year. It is a requirement of entry that all riders are members of the club as well as Equestrian Australia. If you are not a CPEC Members Club member for 2025 you will not be able to compete on the night. If you would like to check the status of your membership, please contact Krystie Baker who manages the club memberships.
To join or renew your membership for 2025, simply click Clubs (nominate.com.au) and complete the online membership form.
Equestrian Australia – Membership
All riders are also required to be current financial members of Equestrian Australia (EA). Nominate will ask you for a valid EA number on entry and will validate this prior to closing.

Payment
Payment is required upon entry on Nominate.
Classes
Due to the popularity of our event nights and the time restrictions of the indoor arena, the following rules apply to entries.
- Maximum of four entries per horse - this means a horse with two riders can do four classes. Ie. two classes with each rider.
- A rider can ride multiple horses, a horse can be in the same class with different riders provided it does not exceed the four-class maximum.
- The age group is for the rider is based on show horse rules. Child riders are under 17 years, and adult (open) riders are 17 years and over.
- The exception to the four class rule is entry to any of the 'fun' classes - best presented horse, rider, longest mane and tail, cleanest tack. You may enter these in addition to the four ridden classes. These will be judged at a halt - riders can be led.
Classes
All classes are listed on Nominate. If you are unsure of your horse's height, speak to your coach. You may enter the child and open age class and the rider class for your age group if you like.
Dress Code
Light (beige) or white coloured breeches/jodhpurs, jacket preferred, gloves optional.
EXTERNAL COMPETITORS
CPEC Members Club welcome external competitors. As we are a government facility where clients stable their horses full time, there is an additional fee of $25 per rider for competitors coming in from venues other than CPEC. Please tick this box upon entry and the committee will forward you the relevant paperwork.
NO CHANGES AFTER ENTRIES HAVE CLOSED
Absolutely no changes will be made after entries have closed. This includes late entries or changes to riders.
DRAW
The first rider on the course at 5.00pm pm sharp. Set up at 4.30pm.
The draw will be emailed to all competitors 24 hours prior.
VOLUNTEERS
All participants are required to volunteer or nominate a friend/ relative to volunteer on the night. Set up 4.30 pm on Friday plus, others to assist, marshals, pack up, food and beverages, first aid. Pack up is after the final horse has left the arena.
FOOD AND DRINKS
Food and drinks will be sold on the night, we are CASHLESS, and we have EFTPOS facilities onsite.

$20 per class/test
$5 for 'fun classes'
Admin Fee 5.5%
PHOTOGRAPHY
Please don't forget to support the onsite photographer and purchase (do not steal!) the wonderful photos captured during the night.
Show Horse Night - changes to the normal structure!
The classes run in an open format meaning once ribbons are placed on the horses the next class commences.
Each class has approximately 15 minutes scheduled for it, however, this is only an estimate and may be faster or slower. You must be up at the indoor promptly and ready to go for your class.
YOU DO NOT NEED A BRIDLE NUMBER. When you come into the class, the steward (judges helper) will mark your name off on their sheet. Just tell them your name and your horse's name.
They will be judged 'on the ring' meaning that all riders will be asked to walk/trot/canter (if you do not want to canter, just let the judge know) around the arena following the directions of the judge and steward. Depending on the numbers we may split the class in half to do the judging, we may also combine heights after closing of entries if the numbers are smaller - this is at the discrestion of the committee.. At the end of the class, the judge will call riders forward in order of 1st through to 6th and ribbons will be awarded.
If you win your class (1st) you are eligible for Champion and Reserve Champion - all horses in the height that won will do a 'workout' that is set by the judge. The judge will then choose their Champion and Reserve Champion for that class.
If you win Champion, you will compete for Supreme Champion. This will be at the end of the night and is judged by both judges. The overall Supreme Champion Horse and Rider will be decided.
Presentation of the Show Horse - Tips and Tricks
Makeup on your horse is optional. We recommend trying it on a small part of your horse to make sure they do not have a reaction. You do not need to go out and buy makeup, a simple little bit of baby oil over the top of their eye and muzzle does wonders (as does a freshly washed pony!)

Generally, a saddle pad is not worn. You can use a half pad or numnah, or just a plain white saddle pad is ok.
