Welcome to the Australasian Police and Emergency Services Games Equestrian Section!

Equestrian will be conducted at the Tasmanian Equestrian Centre on the 16th and 17th March Twenty-25.

The centre is siuated at Equestrian Drive, Acton Park and is over 300 acres. There are 140 steel and wooden yards and camping is available with limited power. Other accommodation is available within 15 minutes of the facility.

This schedule is for the dressage section. Please read the event rules and event questions carefully.

All Classes:  Run in accordance with current Equestrian Australia (EA) Dressage Rules.

Tests: Open and Pony Tests:  1.1, 1.2, 2.1, 2.2, 3.1 3.2, 

Pony Dressage: Run in accordance with current EA Pony Dressage rules.

A 5.5% Fee is charged by Nominate to use their services and will be added onto your entry fee.

1. House keeping: please clean out your yard and put the manure in the designated area prior to leaving. Dogs are not permitted on the ground. Canteen will be available on both competition days.

2. Close of entries: Strictly January 31st Twenty-25

3. Please assist with the pack-up at the end of the day; if you need to leave early please see the Day Co-ordinator prior to leaving to offer assistance.  

4. Under no circumstances are riders to approach the scoring team or enter the scoring area: any queries should be directed to the Day Co-ordinator.

Loan Horses: For International Competitors (or NZ Competitors requiring a horse) please contact the Sports Co-ordinator at apesequestriangames@gmail.com who will assist with contact details of individuals or organisations who may be able to arrange the hire of a horse for the competition.

You will need to provide the following information:

· Rider level / experience

· Type of horse required

· Classes you intend to enter

Competitors requiring a loan horse will be responsible for dealing directly with horse owners and negotiating the reimbursements (payments) and insurance cover (where required). Competitors will be responsible for the feeding and maintenance costs and payments.

The Equestrian co-ordinators and Events Team will provide referral information only and have no further involvement in negotiations or payments to any horse providers.

Registration: There are two parts to the Equestrian Registration.

Part 1: You will need to visit the APES Games 2025 Registration Webpage to register for the games. You will need to use the games registration to register for the games and any other sporting codes you intend to enter.

Part 2: You will need to go to the Equestrian specific registration system to complete your Equestrian registration. You will need to Register again on this page and enter your chosen Equestrian Events. You can access this page here https://www.nominate.com.au/ AND there will be 3 separate events---dressage, showjumping and combined training and show horse. IF YOU ARE ENTERING AND REQUIRE A POOL HORSE PLEASE PUT POOL HORSE IN THE HORSE FIELDS. Riders using their own horses will fill in their horse details as normal.

Grading This is an open competition, run under training conditions, so EA competitors will not gain EA points for any placings in Dressage and Show Jumping. This is not a qualifying competition.

Riders may enter what classes they wish pursuant to rules of entry (see below)

This event will be run to Equestrian Australia Rules for Combined Training, Dressage, Show Horse and Show Jumping.

Competition Rules The Equestrian event will be run in accordance with Equestrian Australia - Rules and Regulations

· Combined Training will be run under Equestrian Australia Eventing Rules.

· Dressage: Horses can only be entered in two different levels at a miniumum of 2 tests per day. Highest score comination on a single test will also be awarded

· Combined Training: Horses can only be entered in one Combined Training class

· Show Horse: Horses/Riders can enter any classes pursuant to class restrictions.

· Jumping: The number of classes per competitor for SJ---Riders can ride 1x class of Article 273; 2.2, 3.3.2, 4.3 plus any two single rounds (in case they do not wish to ride in the fancy dress). 

The organising committee reserves the right to change the program prior to the event.

Service/Agency Attire: This will be judged by a mystery judge over the two days in all sections.

Competitors are strongly encouraged to enter into the spirit of the Australasian Police and Emergency Services Games by improvisation of their service/agency identity through their riding and horse’s attire.

Agency patches, uniforms and colour cordination greatly add to the spectacle and the uniqueness of this competition.

The “Smartest on Parade” event judge will be influenced by quality, originality and the innovation of agency entrants in these event
