GET READY FOR SPRING IN THE VINES! Sam Lyle and Ben Netterfield

We are very excited to host Sam Lyle and Ben Netterfield together for Spring in the Vines. Not only are they spectacular coaches with years of experience, they are also successful riders and horse trainers. We welcome them back to Fernances Creek knowing the riders/horses will benefit tremendously from the clinic.

An action packed 2 days with 2 of the best coaches in Australia! There will be gourmet lunches for the riders and spectators, camping,yards and a social BBQ/campfire on Saturday night.Great social weekend in a beautiful location.

When you enter this, you accept our waiver. Please read it.

There are no refunds 14 days before the event. If you cannot make it, sell the place to a friend or on Facebook. We will also help if there is a waitlist.

If you are late to your class or miss it, you cannot join another cass if it is full. Gieve yourself plenty of time to get here as there are some roadworks or consider camping the night before.

You must either be an EA member or a member of our club to ride for insurance.

Book your camp/yard when you enter if you are camping. We have limited yards. If you cannot find a yard, contact Sharon.

Book your extra meals if you are bringing on-riding guests. Rider lunches are included but you must book dinner.

Directions and Entry

When you enter Fernances Crossing Road off of the main road, continue straight on. DO NOT CROSS THE CREEK TO THE RIGHT. Go towards the flags and the sign, enter the wooden gates and park your float. If you have a yard, head to the Clubhouse when you are ready.

Format of the Weekend

Friday Night: Campers arrive, campfire provided. BYO food and drinks or head to Laguna (10 minutes away or Wollombi a bit further for dinner/drinks.)

Saturday Morning: 8:00 start showjumping and cross country. Coffee/tea and baked goods complimentary in the Clubhouse.

Saturday Lunch/ Instructor Break: 12:30-1:30

Saturday Afternoon: Last class finishes 3:00pm

Saturday Rounds on Course 3:00-4:00

Saturday BBQ: 5:30/ BYO nibbles and drinks to the Clubhouse. Campfire till late.

 

Sunday Morning: 8:00 start showjumping and cross country. Coffee/tea and baked goods complimentary in the Clubhouse.

Sunday Lunch/ Instructor Break: 12:30-1:30

Sunday Afternoon: Last class finishes 3:00pm

Sunday Rounds on Course 3:00-4:00

 

About Sam Lyle

Sam Lyle is assistant coach to Australia’s eventing team. This has included being the assistant coach on two Trans-Tasman teams (2005, 2006), a World Championship Team (2006) and head coach for the Australian Young Rider team (2012). In 2008 Sam was the Assistant Australian coach for eventing at the Beijing Olympic Games.

Sam is an Equestrian Australia NCAS Level 3 Coach and holds a Masters of Education Studies (Sports Coaching) from Sydney University.

About Ben Netterfield

A popular and respected coach and clinician, Ben Netterfield continues to bring out the best in riders, including at elite competition level.

His extensive career, which has seen him in various roles at the World Equestrian Games in 1998, Youth Olympics Festival in 2005, the London Olympic Games in 2012, and Chief d’Equipe for National Senior and Young Rider Teams, has led him to become one of Australia’s most sought after showjumping specialists.

Following two major injuries in his own sporting pursuits, Ben has recognised the significance of the rider’s mindset in overcoming adversity. Now a qualified Leadership Coach from the Australian Institute of Professional Coaches, he coaches riders using a holistic mind and body approach.

Trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, with a focus on trauma, depression and anxiety disorders, and working with adolescents, Ben provides a safe and encouraging environment for intermediate to experienced riders to unlock their minds and discover their potential from within.

One-on-one coaching is available to riders Australia-wide.
