Henty Young Riders Squad

Aim:

To improve and encourage young riders to be interested, to learn and to be educated in Dressage for training and competition.

To form a squad of keen and supportive dressage riders that will promote a high level of sportsmanship and team work.

Plan:  2020 – 20 max membership riders. Head Coach Katlin Hull

6 monthly membership from April 2020 – September 2020 with a once monthly Rally Day and in club Competition in November. This rally will consist of group hourly dressage/flatwork lessons of 2/3 riders of the same abilities. Lunchtime 1 hourly presentation of educational benefits for the squad riders-

First aid for horses and riders

Pencilling and Judging

Competition Organisation

Competition presentation and warm up etiquette

Dressage rules and regulations

Learning about Dressage equipment and gear

Bodywork & Stretches

Health and Nutrition

Movements and paces

Lungeing/Long reining/ ground work

 All riders must be under the calendar age of 25yrs and be competent to ride walk, trot, canter (Preliminary level) around the arena. No Lead line and or beginners.

Each financial member will receive an “Hourly Helper Card”. This card will give riders the added bonus of free entry to the in club November Competition if 4hrs of voluntary help is completed throughout the year. This can include busy bees/competition help (aside from helper duty) /training days/protocol days. This card will need to be signed off from the organiser.

Costs:

Individual rider - $320 membership fee (payment option, see below)

+ Henty Yearly Membership Full $80, Family $110

Additional Cost for extra horse - $65 per lesson

Visiting rider - $65 per lesson

DEC mandatory ground fee - $5per horse on grounds every rally

Membership for all paid riders will receive a Henty Young Riders Squad shirt, cap and removable saddle blanket badge.

Payment:

Payment and Squad Membership will need to be made online via Nominate for all riders before the first rally, April 25th 2020.

Option 1: Full yearly payment of $320.00

Option 2: 70% payment of $224.00 by April 25th. Final payment of 30%, $96 by 31st July 2020.

All Squad Riders will need to be financial members of the Henty Riding Club to participate as a Henty Young Riders Squad member. The membership cost is separate to the Young Riders Squad and is not included in the Squad membership fee. Refunds

No refunds or credits will be given throughout the year under any circumstances. If riders simply don’t turn up for squad rallies then they forfeit their costs for that rally.

Waiting List

If rally lessons are not filled then waiting list riders will be contacted to fill spaces. These riders must have Henty Membership and or pay Henty Event membership on the day of $35 (each rally). This cost will be $65 per lesson. If a position becomes available to join the squad then a pro-rata membership will be paid.

Extras:

Monthly newsletter to be emailed to riders.

Helpers/ Organisers to assist in attracting young riders, rally organisation, newsletter.
