Join us for one or two full days of intensive training with coaches Ben Netterfield and Charlie Brister. 
 
Are you looking to gain more confidence? Do you have some shows or events coming up in Spring?                              
 
Are you missing your spots in showjumping or having having refusals or runouts on the cross country course?

Do you have a new horse and want to test the waters in showjumping and cross country?

Do you want to work on your position,timing and improve the responsiveness of your horse?
 
If you answered "yes" to any of those questions, this is the clinic for you.
 
Format for 2 Day Clinic: Bonus Free Camping for 2 day packages
 
Day 1 -  Training Day 1  GETTING BACK INTO IT
 
Each group (maximum 6 riders) will receive a full 2 hour showjumping session with Ben Netterfield followed by a break and then a full 2 hour cross country session with Charlie Brister. There will also be a rider  lunch in the club house with Ben and Charlie. (non-rider lunches can be purchased on nominate under options)
By the end of Day 1, the riders should have a fair idea of what they would like to achieve on Day 2 and then discuss it with their coach.
(We have limited places so riders opting for 2 days of riding will have priority.) If you and are your horse are unfit, let the instructor know you need breaks.
 
Campers can book into an optional Saturday night BBQ dinner. Weather permitting, it will be dinner under the stars with a huge bonfire. Campers will need to bring there own breakfast for Sunday monring, although there will be complimentary coffee, tea and baked goods in the clubhouse.
Camping, yards and paddocks are first come first serve basis and can be booked on nominate. 
We also have 2 only luxury tent packages for riders camping 2 nights which can be booked under options in nominate.
 
Day 2-RECOVER AND RELAX
 
The second day is a follow on from Day 1 and will give each rider a chance to work on any issues that were encountered on day 1.  Riders also have a chance to jump full rounds on both the showjumping and cross country course. If riders want to jump a different height or jump obstacles they missed on the cross country, Day 2 will address this.
Each group will receive a 1.5 hour showjumping session with Ben and a 1.5 hour session with Charlie, Ask to jump full rounds of jump something you missed on Saturday.
 
Campers receive complimentary tea,coffee, some baked good and access to clubhouse,fire area and seating
 
Each Rider gets a gourmet lunch, spectators or non-riders can book a lunch.
 
 
About Ben Netterfield:
Ben Netterfield is one of the most experienced and accomplished show jumpers in Australia. His wealth of experience includes the following.

About Charlie Brister
 
 

Charlie Brister is currently competing 3*** eventing and developing a team of future international champion eventers.

With a decade of experience riding track work at Warwick Farm, Charlie also educates young thoroughbreds to be jockey-ready and track-fit.

Charlie regularly competes in the show jumping arena and is currently starting in Advanced Dressage competitions.

As a young rider Charlie has been on the Equestrian Australia “Emerging Talent” list and a member of the National Youth Development Squad.  Charlie is now part of the Kibah Tic Toc High Performance Squad.

Charlie’s riding ambitions started at 10 years of age at the small one day events and with his family horse businesses. He funded his university degree in Politics and Sociology from The University of Sydney by riding track work and educating young horses before deciding to turn professional as an equestrian.

Many experiences have helped shaped Charlie’s practical approach to horse education.  A few highlights include

  • Germany 2012            Stable rider for Australian Olympic jumping team coach, Gilbert Boeckmann, as recipient of the three month Equestrian Australia Scholarship
  • Portugal 2012             Trained at Morgado Lusitano for a month with Paulo Sergio, a Master in the Portuguese School of Equitation
  • Germany 2009            Rode at well-known German breeding and competition barn of  Zuchtof Klatte
  • Australia 2005-2013  Track rider for Paul Cave racing stables and chief assistant to equestrian vet Brett Warren (also known as Charlie’s dad).

Current coaches mentoring Charlie include:

  • Colleen Brook – show jumping

Important Notes: Please Read

Questions on the entry: When you enter, you must answer the rider questions regarding jumping heights of rider and horse combination, expectations of the clinic, food allergies, who you would like to be in a group with, time slot requirements. We will make every effort to accommodate your requests but cannot promise all. The rider and horse information will go to the instructors prior to clinic for planning purposes.

Directions: Give yourself plenty of time to get here and be tacked up at least 10 minutes before your class starts. We are an 1 hr and 10 min. north of Hornsby and 40 minutes from Gosford near the township of Laguna, NSW.

Lodging: Camping with access to club house (shower,toilet,fire and seating)

Luxury Tent Packages:There are 2 only luxury tent packages that can be booked in under options in nominate. The tents are large two room tents and sleep 2 people. They are fitted out with cots,mattresses,sheets,pillow and doonas. You are also allowed to add your own air mattresses for extra people if you wish. The tents are located near the clubhouse with easy access to the toilet,shower,seating and fire. Tent Packages include a welcome bottle of our Fernances Creek Old Stonewall Sangiovese Red Wine and cheese plate. These packages book out quickly.

Other Lodging: Google Laguna or Wollombi Accommodation. Laguna is only 10 minutes away and Wollombi 20 minutes.

Food: Campers receive complimentary coffee,tea, some baked goods and access to clubhouse,seating and fire area.

Riders: Receive a gourmet lunch, non-riders can book lunches and dinners

Friday Night Campers: The GNTP (Great Northern Trading Post) is a wine bar and offers hot dinners,a fire and music on Friday night.  You should phone them on Thursday before the event to find out how long the kitchen is open.(02) 4998 8244 Please call them to confirm opening hours due to recent lockdown.

There is also the Wollombi Pub and a couple of other cafes in Wollombi which is about 20 minutes away.

Saturday Riders and Campers:

A rider lite lunch will be served in the club house with Charlie and Ben. Non-riders and spectators need to purchase a lunch ticket under options in nominate. Family and friends are more than welcome and we need to booking for catering purposes when you enter.

Saturday Night Campers:

There will be a casual BBQ and bonfire under the stars (weather permitting). Riders and spectators need to purchase their dinner tickets under options in nominate.

There is also the GNTP and Wollombi Pub.

Sunday Morning: There will be a fire, hot drinks and bakec goods in the clubhouse but you will need to cater your own breakfast if you need more.

Sunday Lunch: There will be soup and bread for riders. Spectators have to book a lunch on nominate.

Yards: We have 10 yards near the clubhouse and 5 near the barn plus some stables(5 minute walk). First come, first serve. We also have paddocks near the clubhouse. You can erect your own yards and we will direct you to the best spots. Yard and camping packages are on nomiante.

Parking:

When entering Fernances Creek Farm off the main road, follow the signs to parking. DO NOT CROSS CREEK

Cars and floats park in the paddock near the house. 

Trucks need to indicate that they have a truck when they enter as we have special parking for trucks.
