The History of Equestrian Sport in Moora…
Moora has been the base for the development of equestrian talent within Western Australia for at least the past 40 years. In 2004, Central Midlands Pony Club celebrated its 40th year.

Anne Taylor is a name well known to all within the equestrian arena. Anne was born and raised in Moora. As a competitor, Anne was selected as part of the Australian team to compete in the World Championships, hosted at Gawler, South Australia in 1986, and was first reserve for the Soul Olympics in 1988. Anne and her horse ‘Sir Waraba’ gained sixth position in the world, amongst a very competitive field.

Anne is now a leading competitor in the discipline of dressage, placing highly at national level.

Moora will continue to benefit from Anne’s achievements as she continues to recognize the talent originating from this area by traveling and conducting coaching on a regular basis.

Local identity and course designer Julie Isbister is another successful rider who competed as a junior in the Moora area. Julie won the National Advanced Three Day Event Championships at Narrogin on her horse ‘Yoda Ladee’ in 1986 and continues to project a positive influence on the development of equestrian spirit in Moora.
