MOUNT GAMBIER AUTUMN HORSE TRIALS

 

Run in conjunction with the Mount Gambier & Districts Pony Club Inc.

 

 

30th & 31st March 2019

 

  

An excellent all weather course, run on undulating sandy loam country.  
The ground drains well, never gets hard or muddy – all year round riders can be assured of an excellent surface for their horses.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

Enter via Nominate.

Competitors wishing to enter a class with a wait list; enter as normal and a refund will be issued if not included in the draw.

Pony Club Classes are open to Pony Club Members ONLY

No phone entries will be accepted

Entries close Wednesday 20th March 2019 at 5.00pm

ADDITIONAL FEES AND LEVIES:

Riders entering both Pony Club Horse trials classes and combined competition classes will pay a discounted fee of $95.00 for the two competitions.

PRIZE MONEY:

Classes 1 to 5

NO. OF RIDES PER CLASS:

Two (2). (Three (3) will be considered at the discretion of the committee.)

HORSE SUBSTITUTION:

Allowed at the discretion of the committee.

COURSE CLOSURE:

Friday 3rd March 2019 at midnight

DECLARATIONS:

Competitors must declare their intention to withdraw by 5.00pm Thursday, 28th March 2019 to 040 808 1004. Scratchings after the close of entries MUST have a vet/medical certificate. The Administration Fee will not be refunded for ANY entry.

STARTING TIMES:

Will be emailed to competitors prior to the event and published on the Pony Club web site; www.ponyclub.asn.au , Nominate www.nominate.com.au and the Mount Gambier Horse Trials Facebook page

Programs will not be available at the venue, competitors are to print a copy should they wish and bring with them 

PROVISIONAL TIMETABLE:

Saturday: Dressage (all classes)                  

Sunday: Cross Country & Show Jumping*

Combined Training: all phases Saturday
* Depending on entries some classes may be programmed to show jump on Saturday.

GEAR CHECK:

Pony Club riders to be gear checked prior to each phase.

EA riders will be observed in all phases, no formal gear check is required.

COMPETITORS:

All competitors competing in PONY CLUB CLASSES must be members of a Pony Club

M = Pony Club Member under 17 years

S = Pony Club Members 17 years & over

Age of riders is determined as of 1st January 2019

All EA Competitors must be a financial EA Member.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR PONY CLUB COMPETITORS:

Pony Club Members must be qualified to compete and have four (4) attendance qualifications within the preceding 12 months.

CARDS FOR PONY CLUB COMPETITORS:

Pony Club Competitors: All competitors are required to present their Pony Club cards and helmets to the Secretary’s office prior to the commencement of the competition and cards will be held for the duration of the competition. Cards will be checked for grades, qualifications and financial status. NOTE: Each Pony Club combination must have a current Performance Card and must be a financial member of a Pony Club. Any rider who does not present a current Attendance/Performance Card will not be permitted to ride. NO PONY CLUB CARD – NO RIDE

EXEMPTION CARDS FOR PONY CLUB COMEPTITORS:

To be carried by those holding C Certificate over 17yrs and must be produced on demand by the gear checkers if using Pony Club non -compliant Saddlery / tack. (For example approved 2018 EA bits)

UNIFORM FOR PONY CLUB COMPETITORS:

All competitors, including adults must wear full pony club uniform.

NUMBER HOLDERS/ ARM BANDS FOR PONY CLUB COMPETITORS:

Riders are required to provide their own body number holder and medical armband.

NUMBER HOLDERS/ARM BANDS/BODY PROTECTORS FOR EA COMPETITORS:

Medical armbands are compulsory and are to be supplied by the rider.
Back number holders are compulsory and are to be supplied by the rider.
Body protectors are compulsory and are to be supplied by the rider.

SECRETARY’S OFFICE

The Secretary’s Office will be open from 7am Saturday 30th March 2019.

INSPECTION OF X-COUNTRY:

From approximately 12.00 noon Saturday, 30th March 2019. This will be announced on the day.

PONY CLUB GROUNDS:

67 yards only within the grounds are available, with shower and toilet facilities. Strictly no power. ($30.00 per yard includes camping).Yard bookings via Nominate must accompany entry.
Portable yards are not permitted on the Pony Club grounds.
Camping in the airport area is not permitted.

OTHER OFF-SITE YARDS AND CAMPING:

Riding for Disabled, located only 2 minutes from the grounds have 7 yards available. Camping is also available for competitors with their own portable yards. Shower and toilet facilities available. Bookings via Robyn Keillor ph 0476 141 129.
Mount Gambier Show Grounds have stables and 48 yards available. All bookings are by contacting (08) 8725 1873.

LOCATION:

Mount Gambier and Districts Pony Club, 81 Airport Road, Wandilo.  The grounds are marked with signage. Entry via the Airport entrance after 7:00am on Saturday.

GENERAL CONDITIONS:

DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON THE GROUNDS BY ORDER OF AIRPORT MANAGEMENT, ANY PERSON BRINGING A DOG ONTO THE GROUNDS WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE IMMEDIATELY.

CATERING:

Available on both days.

PRESENTATIONS:

All place getters to wear show jumping attire.

FODDER:

Available by calling The Produce Store ph 08 8725 0377

FARRIER:

Please ask at the Secretaries Office, the service is supplied on a user pays basis.

VETERINARIAN:

On call Saturday and at the venue on Sunday.  Please ask at the Secretaries Office, the service is supplied on a user pays basis.

MEDICAL SERVICES:

Event Medical Plus and St John Volunteers will provide medical support across the weekend.

Published on the Mount Gambier Horse Trials Facebook page.  Pony Club results will be published on the PCASA website

PROTESTS:

Must be lodged in accordance with PCASA rules for the conduct of One Day Events.

The Organising Committee reserves the right to:
• Cancel any class or event;
• Divide any class;
• Alter the advertised times;
• Refuse any entry with or without stating a reason.
